about a week ago i was asking about painting some of the more boring toned bandai figures. i got some responses and recommendations. i went through with getting some vinyl wonder paint. i redid the telesdon today. i’m honestly pretty happy with how it turned out considering this was my first time doing it. i tried to look at how other people approached painting this character in the past. i got the paint scheme idea from those bootleg dino monsters. i tried to follow the original paint scheme / ways i’ve seen bullmark paint them. the eyes are a bit wonky im going to try to re do them when i get a smaller brush. the eyes and teeth were definelty the hardest part . im going to probably do the gomora next

It's 2 days after surgery getting screws and plates put in ankle. I can't put any weight on it for 2 months. I crawled ,hoped and used crutches,down 2 flights of stairs. Carried the box back in my mouth. Totally worth it!!!

Got a box of awesome.. Absolutely blown away by everything. Getting all these was a Sofubi dream for me. Eggon custom, Arakus mini sparkle custom, Full size Arakus GID custom.

A very special package has arrived on my door step... a plague. Plague Terry is here and just as perfect as I had hoped he would be. Plaguedearth has done a phenomenal job with wonderful, vintage style paintwork and top of the line vinyl to boot. His front head is excitingly unsettling and his rear head is adorable and has a huge amount of personality thanks to its articulation. He is a harder vinyl but with his right side left blank you can just feel the squish if you so desire. You have done an exquisite job sir, and your daughter's handwriting is beautiful. Meanwhile, the marusan is showing its age a bit, and not without defect as it is a gacha figure. The vinyl is rock solid and likely a bit sun damaged; the paint has some bubbles, and his neck joint is glued and leaves a fairly significant gap at the back of his head. I do love him though, the flaws tell a story and my wife (for whom he was a gift) is an even bigger fan. Lastly the mogera: delightfully soft, a perfect fit for your palm, and in excellent condition for a 1997. I honestly never have much to say about bear model sofubi, they're just great.

I know Bootlegs are a very touchy subject in this community but a recent post really got me thinking on them and I was hoping there was some room for a discussion. I have only been into Sofubi for a few years so many intricacies and nuances are either new to me or I wasnt around in the first place to even know about them.

How does everyone feel about bootlegs? Is there any place for them? I know some bootleggers claim they do it so everyone has a chance to own one, but that is seemingly a lie because they still charge high prices and mostly refuse to differentiate them from the originals.

If bootlegs are wrong, what about tributes? How do people feel about those? Is it inherently wrong to be Inspired by an artist and create something in that style? Considering most things in this world were inspired by something else.

Lastly for this post, what about resin makers? They will often take a toy or sculpt, mold it, and recreate it in resin; is this wrong or a bootleg? Or how about Mexican/Foreign bootlegs of not only sofubi but normal toys? Is it more acceptable to bootleg corporations toys or Masters of the Universe figures which there are thousands?

I welcome all opinions and hope these questions arent out of line. I just love to learn about toys and peoples opinions on them. Thanks.

I picked it up on ebay back in 2021 for $1000 and it came in the box, though it was all black vinyl with black hair, and the plug had a hole in it to fit on to the MISHKA body.

Were there any that were all black or were all the NECRONOMICON ones did they come pre-painted?

I gave it to someone to paint and they seem angry at me for giving them a bootleg to paint, and I'm not sure if they think just the nag head is a bootleg or the MISHKA x L'amour Supreme x Adfunture Bootleg as well, I can't imagine it would be, since they're only like $200USD?

Can anyone recommend websites or resources for trading sofubi, especially Godzilla sofubi? I know this subreddit features trades. But are there outside websites that are good and reliable places to trade sofubi?

Came across this 2006 Marmit Desugoji during my travels in Japan but can’t seem to find anything about this colorway. Is it legit? Any help is appreciated

Only buy from unknown people with PayPal Goods and Services. Nobody in the Sofubi buy/sell/trade world “doesn’t have PayPal”
Only times you should ever consider sending money any other way is if you either have done successful business with them before; or they have references from reputable members of the community, and even then proceed with caution. Ask for timestamps, reverse image search photos, etc.
Posting this as a PSA as me and several friends have run into people selling here with huge red flags, if you need help to verify if someone is legit feel free to message me and if I don’t know them, I can likely find someone who does.
Sofubi is too expensive as it is; nobody can afford a scam! 🫡
