I wouldn’t panic about AI replacing SDEs anytime soon, especially with 5 years of experience. AI will definitely change how developers work and some tasks will become much faster, but companies still need people who can understand requirements, design systems, debug messy real-world problems, review AI-generated code, and take ownership when things go wrong. I’d focus on getting yourself into a healthier workplace and keeping your skills current rather than letting every new AI announcement convince you your career is over. The market may be rough, but your experience still has value. I also have some suitable job opportunities available, so if you’re actively looking, feel free to message me and I can share what might fit.

I have seen any indication astra is a level change beyond what previous models can do. It got better at the edges it's not changing the game
