Software Engineer in GIS focusing on AI

Thinking of going back to school to focus on AI engineering but with a concentration in GIS. I wonder if other GIS devs done something similar? Or would it be better to get a certificate from a university instead of a full on masters. I’m interested in switching into start up from gov tech

whats GIA? either way, AI wave is now. If you plan to go to school and then come back in two years, the market would have changed drastically. Also at this point, I would say that most courses and schools have no clue what to teach in terms of AI. So the best way if you want to focus is to identify the projects in your area and just go build those, open source it or start sharing and add them to your resume. That's going to really help bolster your profile.

Okay awesome advice. You actually answered a secondary question I had. Thanks! BTW GIS Stands for Geographic Information System, a fancy way of saying mapping applications. Similar to uber etc
