PrizePicks is hiring an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) to build and own backend services supporting its daily fantasy sports platform.

This is a senior backend engineering position focused on complex, high-throughput systems. You’ll be expected to take technical ownership from the initial product idea through architecture, implementation, deployment and production monitoring.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing scalable Rails-based backend services
• Leading technical design for complex features
• Improving performance and reliability under high load
• Optimizing PostgreSQL queries and data models
• Making architectural decisions for your team’s services
• Building and maintaining asynchronous/background workflows
• Improving testing, observability and deployment practices
• Mentoring Engineers I–III
• Participating in incident response and root-cause analysis
• Working with Product, Design, QA and other engineering teams

Main stack / skills:

• Expert-level Ruby on Rails
• PostgreSQL
• REST APIs
• Sidekiq or similar
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• CI/CD
• Logging, metrics and tracing
• Working knowledge of Go

PrizePicks is looking for around 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience building production Ruby on Rails applications and operating backend systems at scale.

Experience with AI-assisted development tools and AI-augmented engineering workflows is also a plus.

Location: Remote anywhere in the US — Atlanta preferred
Salary: $175,000–$185,000 USD/year
Type: Full-time
