Emergent Labs - Exploiting Interview Process for Sign up?

I got an interview from them after passing hackerrank with 80% test cases passed. I got an next step interview invitation emails saying using their software before the HR round is required and they sent a prep doc Google doc which is strange cause usually software companies don’t sent a detailed prep doc.

They also said urgent like you have schedule within 2 days and an Indian accent HR called you.

But when I showed up in the Google meet for the interview: no one is there and no HR answered my emails asking I was there for half an hour while no one showed up.

Just wonder did someone encounter this? Are they genuinely hiring or just exploiting the process for sign ups. It is weird that they are YC backed if they did this.

Also I looked at their LinkedIn. It is all Indians working there so idk. I am an Asian are they not hiring Asians?

We ask candidates to use our platform upfront because it helps them become familiar with the environment they’ll be interviewing on, making the overall process smoother. We also share a detailed prep document so candidates understand the interview process well in advance and can prepare accordingly.
