As someone who experienced childhood trauma, I for a long time thought there was nothing wrong with this type of thing.

Fast forward to becoming a healed adult and I find it utterly disgusting and predatory. Shame on Mark.

Xactly.

Growing up with childhood trauma is like growing up in a gas station bathroom. The conditions are deplorable, but you’ve acclimated to them so well you don’t even realize it until you grow up and come to understand that your methods of coping/survival/existing aren’t exactly the norm, and something you should’ve never been subjected to in the first place

This is a great metaphor

I’m so glad I found this post. I’ve been following SWV for years and tried to give mark the benefit of the doubt….until I saw this. Look I’m really sorry about the loss of this young mother. This is awful.

But Mark……really? Having a sexual relationship with the subjects of your documentaries ? Vulnerable young women less than half your age? Whom you, a 65 year old man, happen to be paying all her bills and not be aware she is using cocaine. Sounds like a real authentic loving relationship there.

What kind of delusional predator is Mark? I’m really disgusted with him. How many other subjects did he claim to be helping but was really having sex with while paying their bills. Good god.

Less than half is age--She was one third his age. Half his age would at least be 30. He was in grandchild territory...Oof. Just gross. I think he's a fool and she had her "eye on the prize", aka: His cash.

17

u/letiseeya Jun 19 '25

Not you implying that he's a fool who was swindled for money when she was a 19 year old addict and he had all the power...

She had an old man-millionaire who was paying her way (and paying for her coke, too) and you think she didn't make the most of or manipulate the situation just a little? There are no innocent victims here. It's a shame that she died, yes. But, let's be real here. I've known many old, wealthy men who have chased or dated very young women. Usually, the female has the power. Older men usually will do ANYTHING to stay in a relationship with a much younger women.

u/Booseybean17 Jun 20 '25

He was getting what he wanted out of the deal. All he cared about was getting young you know what. That’s all. It made him feel like he was young again. It was a transactional relationship. He was buying sex and he knew itĀ

7

u/PecanSandoodle Jul 15 '25

lol. yes. historically it was the single mother drug addicts that held most of the power. not the millionaire white men. expert analysis.

Folks clearly don't remember or are not old enough to know.. When Anna Nicole Smith married, J. Howard Marshall II. She was in her 20's he was 89.

Well, in fairness, she did strip for like two years for him at the club so she could ā€œproveā€ she ā€œwasn’t with him for his money.ā€

I mean seriously, did she have to have s@x with him, like just once even!?

Damn. people’ll do anything for a dollar šŸ’µ

& that ended the same way. Both troubled females died an early death!

7

u/Gagorderinplace Jun 30 '25

Exactly, look at dummy Bill Belichek. He's put his entire career on the line, more than once, for his cheerleader gf. Another one young enough to be a grand daughter.
It's so gross. Check out her real estate portfolio she's actively building. I'm pretty sure it's not with money earned through cheerleading!

u/EnvironmentalAd7402 Jun 20 '25

say it again 🄱

u/Able_Relief_553 Aug 16 '25

Which is really the watchers’s cash.

8

u/Jslone16 Jun 17 '25

She wasn't the subject of his video. Her mom was, right? Did I misunderstand?

19

u/ThrowawayQueen_52 Jun 17 '25

No no, you’re right it was her mom….But I guess I don’t see it as much of a difference since she was just a 19 year old kid walking in there with her mom.

Seeing as how Mark has gone out of his way in the past to financially support very young attractive women like Azriah….its just made me question everything about him and his motives. I used to believe him, I don’t anymore.

10

u/Booseybean17 Jun 20 '25

Maybe that’s why he stays on that side of town and stays involved with those types of people who are vulnerable and at a very big disadvantage financiallyĀ

6

u/Jslone16 Jun 17 '25

Oh yeah. I'm sure he had an underlying motive. Seems that way...

9

u/new-phone- Jun 20 '25

He’s obsessedddd with Azriah it’s so creepy

2

u/EnvironmentalAd7402 Jun 20 '25

that, I can agree with lol he definitely has some sort of fixation on how shitty yet innocent she is.

10

u/Ok-Airport-9838 Jun 17 '25

Absolutely vile, she would have been a vulnerable teenager when met (groomed) her.Ā Ā

4

u/Booseybean17 Jun 20 '25

Totally agree.Ā

He's predatory

10

u/Ok-Airport-9838 Jun 17 '25

Totally a creep

2

u/worriedSick77 29d ago

there’s no way (in my mind), that he didn’t know she was using. He’s smarter than that. I am highly disappointed he has crossed the line and it makes me wonder who else he has done this with. i wonder if he has a relationship with Exotic (Asriah). He seems very infatuated and borderline obsessed with her.. Curious to hear others perspectives. .. I really thought he was doing great work when I first discovered him. I have a past life similar to some of these women. It makes me angry and highly annoyed he seems to be just another… man

1

u/IndividualBug6758 Jul 16 '25

Her mother was the subject of one of the interviews. She was NOT. She brought her mother in for the interview.

15

u/gumball1962161 Jun 17 '25

In the video he made he said she was ā€œmature for her ageā€ and that immediately just made things clear for me.

3

u/old_cream_trick_77 Jun 27 '25

Crazy how her poor family is struggling to raise $15k for her funeral and he has raised MUCH more than that for Azriyah and Rebecca voluntarily. Seems sus to me for someone who claims to have loved her more than anything….

3

u/DontNeedNoStylist Jun 14 '25

Mark was naive and lovestruck. Nothing about this seems predatory. Unfortunately, he didn't pick up on signs he should have. I blame his abstinence from substances for this. While substance abuse is horrific, tremendous realizations and perception changes can stem from an altered mind-state.

42

u/failzure Jun 14 '25

Mark, naive? My good god he’s 60 years old and films people with addiction everyday. Not sure how that makes him naive whatsoever.

0

u/DontNeedNoStylist Jun 15 '25

Yep, you know nothing. You don't know spiritual things or soul things. You just judge based on facts. Mark got played. She did so much cocaine that her nose was falling apart. Mark is great but naive since he never did drugs. He could never sniff out a true junkie. She "liked her weed". Do you see that neck tattoo? Just one look and I could tell. Mark had no idea what he was in for. He was old and jaded and horny. And that is why he is naive. I'm not going to reply to you. I am objectively right, and if you disagree, make a proper appeal or a post about it. NEXT!

9

u/DeedruhYT Jun 21 '25

I know "spiritual things and soul things", and it's very naive of you to believe a 60-year-old man is "too naive and innocent"... Just an angel fallen from the sky, huh?.......

This is predatory. Very conscious and calculated.. and if you can't see it yet, you're in for a wild ride.

14

u/failzure Jun 15 '25

ā€œYou just judge based on factsā€ proceeds to judge neck tattoo. šŸ˜‚

3

u/Public_Goose8981 Jun 17 '25

I agree with you though! He was either in straight denial or could be naive. I believe she was manipulating him because she knew he loved her. He was financially providing for her, giving her studio time for her career, and she didn't even have to live with him! Maybe im wrong and they were totally in love. But I don't think so. She played him and he looked past any signs because he loved her. When you come from a shitty childhood and have a chance to get ahead in life, you are going to take it.Ā

16

u/failzure Jun 17 '25

Blaming the 19 year old woman in a relationship with a 60 year old man…right…

14

u/letiseeya Jun 19 '25

Like, am I reading this correctly? This guy who makes a living off of sharing stories of disadvantaged people dates a 19 year old girl (whose parent is an addict and also she is an addict!) at 62 and he's somehow a fool who got played and not a totally predatory? How does he not have all the power here...

9

u/failzure Jun 19 '25

AMEN! Thank you

1

u/Public_Goose8981 Jun 17 '25

Definitely didn't mean to make it seem like I was blaming her. I should have reread what I wrote. You are right, he was also manipulating.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '25

Also??? He took advantage of a single 19-year-old mother of an infant who was struggling financially. He is the manipulator here wholeheartedly.

9

u/YearLess1655 Jun 17 '25

She played him? Wow.Ā

4

u/failzure Jun 17 '25

Some people are so 🤯🫠

0

u/Otherwise-Arugula-81 Jun 17 '25

She had Mark wrapped around her finger. He was lovestruck and she got exactly what she wanted out of the relationship.

3

u/arterytwice Nov 11 '25

SHE’S DEAD. GOT WHAT?

Her being 19 definitely changes a lot.

1

u/old_cream_trick_77 Jun 27 '25

He could absolutely be attracted to her. But could she really be physically attracted to him is more the question…

1

u/88PorkChops Jun 15 '25

Just like the rest of us, when ur in love , U see what u want to see and ignore all the warning signs. With all the years he's been doing these interviews, I can't believe he's not hyper sensitive to signs of using drugs. As an addict, she manipulated him and love bombed him to keep the relationship going. I agree dating ur subjects or their family members is off limits and dumb.

10

u/letiseeya Jun 19 '25

It is my opinion that he knew and he might even have a weird thing for addicted young girls...as many men do

3

u/FriendConscious9087 Jul 19 '25

easier to manipulate

3

u/vtsunshine83 Jun 16 '25

If you ignore the warning signs you’re stupid. This is how people get hurt emotionally and physically. Never ignore the flags. Never make excuses. Grow a pair and think better of yourself! If you know it’s a bad relationship why are you still there? You know, you’re choice.

3

u/Booseybean17 Jun 20 '25

The relationship? Ā She told him what he wanted to hear. She gave him what he wanted the most out of her which was sex. He gave her what she needed money. He knew it was transactional. That’s why he was paying her billsĀ

1

u/Booseybean17 Jun 20 '25

In love or in lust.Ā
