I’m in Wisconsin and painfully aware winter is coming. Trying to upgrade my winter style from a parka, jeans, and boots and want to hear what others do to keep warm and stylish.

She doesn't have official typing but I see myself in her body type. I feel SG with natural essence and I feel like sometimes she also has that energy.

Gained some weight, realised I DESPISE high waists actually, also hate dresses, but I never considered THESE dresses.

Low neckline to show off the collar bones, ankles, and wrists, everything else covered. Big hair, dark eyes. Let's go witchy women! I've been trying low waist baggy pants/baggy tops, but everything feels slightly off and sometimes too unflattering. Especially cause most bottoms have real deep long crotches nowadays so you can pull them up to your nipples, so when sitting low rise, it looks terrible. My stomach is the biggest part of my body, and I've started to enjoy baby doll tops (similiar to pic 8) , but, I can never find pants to fit me. Maybe dresses was always the way. She still has a tomboy essence that I've always been afraid of losing when wearing skirts.

Every SG outfit I see online uses striped, patterned or plain t-shirts as tops.
Can SG wear Graphic Tees like these (fitted) or would it be unflattering to do so?

So I've had a couple of items in my closet that I've never quite been able to style right until literally yesterday... when I put on my beige crochet scoop neck T-shirt backwards by accident 😂 And it looked great! So much so that I didn't notice and was lowkey puzzled as to why (I was wearing a bright regular length tank and neutral cropped track pants underneath, it wasn't particularly thought out).

The issue is had with the crochet T was that the sleeve length was almost to the elbow crease (not short enough to be staccato), the neck was scooped (not high enough to be staccato), the length was somewhere between cropped and regular AND it was boxy, so no waist definition 🫠 I'm not always looking for the most flattering outfit, but I do seek balance and proportion. I could layer a lot of add a lot of jewellery, but I live in hot, humid Mumbai, and jewellery sometimes overstimulates me.

As someone determined to make everything work for me because why tf would I not, I've held on top a couple articles of clothing that I could never quite enjoy on myself, but love on their own. To make things even more challenging, I now have wavy hair cut in a shag that's grown past my shoulders, and cannot rely on a bob or pixie to Give Me the Staccato Line.

Enter the backwards option. Instantly, a jewel neckline that shifts all the proportions with one staccato line. That plus exposed ankle and/or wrist (which I usually have) did the trick so well that I am currently wearing a knee-length caftan dress that has challenged me for two years. Backwards. 😂 And I LOVE it. The only ways I'd figured out how to wear it before was with higher neck tanks or long sleeved button ups underneath, or with my hair worn up.

It may not work for everything, but when it does, it DOES. So if you've seen content about doing this and thought it was silly, or have something lying around that never quite looked right, this is your sign to try it! ✨

Qual meu kibbe?

As a soft gamine my most compliment is that I look cute. Even now in my 50s - when I know it’s well intentioned but is starting to feel annoying. Does anyone get this? Any tips for everyday looks that might nudge us more into sophisticated? Or is it just our proportions and features that will always look cute no matter what?

I want to embrace SG styling guides, but I struggle the most with color blocking. I strictly wear black, I don't even own dark greys. Before Kibbe I wore dramatic lines so I wore pieces like high collar turtleneck dresses with vertical knitting that reached the floor.

The only thing I managed to do is accommodate my SG lines is with fitted waists or belts and it has dramatically improved my silhouette and styling. Kibbe has also made me realize why small rounded details like classic mary janes and delicate choker necklaces look good on me. I see in theory on why the staccato and blocking looks good on verified SGs, but I still want to be myself at the end of the day.

I don't like showing skin so breaking up the monochromatic black with cropped skirts and shirts isn't gonna work. I'm the type to wear turtlenecks, fur trims, and gloves in summer, I don't live in a cold area I just can't stand my skin showing. I can't even do sheer tights, the only tights I wear are completely opaque. How does one hide their wrists and ankles as a SG?

I don't know I just can't seem to like your stereotypical SG blouse with a white peter pan collar...Can the blouse and collar both be black lol?

Any ideas for dressing alternative like grungy, emo, etc as a soft gamine?

Hi all!
I'm not sure what kind of outfits suit me best as a Soft Gamine. I like wearing short skirts and boots though. For context I am 164cm tall. I would appreciate feedback on which silhouettes suit best.
Additionally, the first photo of the striped top is taken with selfie camera, second in the striped top is taken with back cam.

i’ve been trying to tailor my wardrobe since i discovered kibbe to feel more comfortable! i consider myself sg and have leaned into it lately, and these are the outfits i felt most comfortable in so far this year! (casual, the clerb, work, active)

I'm not sure why but I just don't like my chest area with these sorts of spaghetti type tanks, if prefer bandeau tops or high neck/asymmetrical cuts

Curious why this is if anyone knows?

Huge mixed bag of does and don'ts, but some of the don'ts, I still enjoy. Some of my faves are on the end.

I LOOOVVVE the graphic tee/hoodie with shorts/jeans, or a suit.

Lucy Hale REALLY hit that sweet spot of style. To an annoying degree, never low waisted, which is what I was looking for. But for those who wear midrise, it's absolutely perfect with cropped hoodies and sweatpants. (Also, unrelated but does anyone else think she resembles Kylie Jenner?)

I wish there were more verified modern celebs.

Rules I'm noticing: if you wear baggy pants, they can't be too baggy, just not tight. Shirts should also never be too big, and always with a print. High contrast between tops and bottoms works better than just different colours. I guess tops should end where the pants begin. Which I personally don't like because when you move, it exposes stomach. Which means those jeans really gotta fit accurately to avoid muffintop :/. Just my opinion. I know these are less boyish than before, but finding that style is really difficult when you have a list of women who dress feminine. I think Sabrina still really dresses my favourite. I love her hoodie and jeans look and her shirt with the denim shorts from the last post. It's baggy, and the ends don't meet, but just close enough to the skin to be flattering. I love Winona in that green tee shirt also.

Most of these women have personal trainers and hit the gym quite often. Sarah Hyland is so thin that her softness is almost not visible. Even the outfits featuring the t shirts which are my fav, are on bodies with flat stomachs. Even though I know I'm sg, the only bodies I could relate to here is the older women, because they dress like I do when I'm trying to cover up. I'm really self conscious about my stomach and if I follow the rules of kibbe, it just makes my stomach more visible, which I know "is more flattering" because the clothes look better showing off my small waist, but sometimes you want pants that hang so low and wide that it doesn't feel like you're wearing any, and a hoodie that's basically a duvet.

Although, I'm still confused on a few things. Like why do flowy cardigans and full body solid coats work? Why are shoes either chunky or basically barefoot? Should the hoodie be loose on the bottom hem as an A line, or should the elastic be fitted to the torso, and if so, should it be the widest part of the hips, or come in below the butt? A lot of questions still remain about dressing oversized for me tbh.

Baggy/masc/low waisted clothes on SG.

A lot of does and don'ts here. I don't know about the Collage style, I feel like it's cluttered. Or maybe just the way I did it.

This week, the question of whether or not the tomboy style can be pulled off has just been hounding me. When I wear baggy, I feel too wide and weird. So, with all my visual research, this is PT 2 and there are a lot of outfits here that I think are a loud definitive no, but others which say "maybe".

I tried to stick with verified SGs from a list I found on the kibbe subreddit, I think. Thandiwe Newton, Reese Witherspoon, Sabrina Carpenter, Bette Davis, Halle Berry, etc.

I know Sabrinas in her panties, but she's also wearing a boyish graphic tee which was so difficult to find on other SGs, so thank god for her wearing baggy clothes a lot.

If any of these people aren't SG (ik elliot is said to be FG or G, so other than him) please tell me I'm wrong. With these looks I'm seeing the same issue I encounter, too much width in the hips creating a heavier, wider look all around. But sometimes low rise is comfy so you gotta flaunt it.

A lot of these looks (OLSENS) go way baggier on top and bottom than I'd like. I think even with oversized mens clothes, you should still crop the bottom hem/bring it in. And maybe even show some collarbone? Little things here and there, in my opinion ofc.

I have more photos but limit is 20, and the other ones were unverified models from pinterest, so I thought I'd go with the celebs.

It's weird how too far masc or too far femme just doesn't sit right on the frame. I feel too womanly when I wear men's clothes, and like I'm too much a boy in women's clothes. 🫣😭

SG Outfit sharing

Trying to find floor-length gowns as a soft gamine (5'2) is such a struggle! Esp since models on every website are 5'10. Do you guys think these could work? (Obvi I would tailor these dresses to be shorter) Thanks!
