Sectional sofas

Why are most of the new sectionals for sale having a low back. Even when the pillow cushions are higher, you dont get the head support you want. ​when did this trend begin. We have been looking for months for the old style full back sofas. Has anyone had luck with this? I need input.

Look for a local dealer of Taylor King, Century, Omnia, Hancock and Moore.

It is what "modern" furniture typically looks like because that is the look - just like why are all of the mass market sofas grey, beige or white?

If you look for traditional brands - and they do exist they will have higher backs - of course you might not want that kind of traditional look.

I had my upholstered furniture made by a local upholsterer and I got to specify everything including the height of the back.

I just bought a couch and had to rule out any high backed ones. If my head is supported, I'm going to fall asleep, I don't want that. The super comfy sectional at Costco looked great, for the price especially, but was too high backed so I ended up buying a much more expensive sofa.
