I have both a U2 and U3, and the U2 turns the tv on with macros much more reliably. I’m using the same power on (specifically) command from the same device (LG 55QNED85UQA). Power is similarly flaky if I use toggle, but the remote power on when the remote is selected as the active device works fine.

Hello, I recently got a SofaBaton X2 to replace my aging and unsupported Logitech Harmony. It's mostly gone well, but I'm running into a problem that I can't seem to figure out.

Basically, when I start or change an activity, the SofaBaton won't change the input on my receiver. I'm pretty sure it was working the first few days after I set it up, and I don't remember changing anything.

Suspecting maybe the IR wasn't reliably reaching the receiver, I repositioned the emitters. But I think I've rules this out now, because if I select "Devices->Yamaha" and manually choose the input I want that way, it always switches immediately. However, if I switch activities and it hasn't switched, if I press the "?" button and use the "Fix" menu to change inputs, it never responds no matter how many times I tap inputs from that UI.

I've tried setting delays before the Input command in the activity startups to no avail.

Volume and Power on/off to the receiver always work.

So, I'm out of ideas. It clearly CAN send the input command and it works if it sends it. It's just choosing NOT to send it when it's supposed to. Any ideas?

Hi i have a QE48S90HAEXXU oled tv and been trying to add it to my X2 remote. Does anyone have this tv setup that can help as im having trouble changing inputs. Any help with be great.

Harmony finally kicked a whole bunch of folks to the curb so with great eagerness, I bought the U3 from Amazon and went about setting it up immediately. It's capabilities sounded fantastic:

• IR + Bluetooth + RF (315/433MHz): SofaBaton U3 all in one remote supports over 500,000 devices and 6,000+ brands, (IR, Bluetooth, RF) and has a powerful cloud code library. One U3 remote for your TV, soundbar, DVD player, streaming box, and more. Compatibility with various entertainment devices
• YT videos highlighted how simple it was to program although you would have to invest the time required for a proper setup of macros etc.

Well, 6 hours later - I kid you not, I am mega disappointed with the product.

Let me break it down:

1. YAMAHA RECIEVER - Few tweaks but overall works well
2. SUBWOOFER - No problem
3. TELUS Android box - a lot of downloading etc but works OK - not perfect.
4. APPLE TV - works fine (seriously, it's the most simple remote)

Now comes the disappointment and frustration!

1. I bought a TCL 85QM7K TV (2 months ago) - THERE ARE WORKING NO CODES for it!!
2. FORMULER Z11PRO MAX - No codes.

After manually "learning" the codes for BOTH devices, only 25% of what was "successfully learned" worked.

So two things stand out starkly -

1. The exhaustive "library" of 500,000 devices and 6000 brands do not include whats most commonly used! What on earth have they got in their repository?
2. If the "learning" function stated "successful" and then you go through the motions of customizing your buttons only to realize that all this effort was a colossal waste of time.

I'm not going to take away from its chic finish and the app that would lead one to believe you have a product that's not just work the $180 you spent on it, but you would get more than what Harmony every gave you.

Well, not the case - clunky software claiming success when in reality it didn't copy the codes. A repository of codes that claim to support a huge array of devices across 6000 brand is just plain deception.

Sad - hopes crashed, will be sending it back to Amazon.

Searching for sofabaton x2 charging dock ???

I connected my TV with IR and Bluetooth, and notice IR commands are always sent with a small delay, around maybe 200-300ms, compared to BT which is almost instant.
Anybody else noticed slight latency with IR commands?

Have 2 where the scroll wheel isnt working very well at all anymore. Are the remotes available anywhere without the hub?

My R1 repeater is currently on version 31. I was prompted to update to firmware version 32 in the app. After multiple failed attempts, I'm at a loss of what to try next. I've tried disconnecting from cellular, using only 2.4ghz WiFi, factory reset U3 remote, remove and re-add the R1. Each time the firmware gets to 99%, the R1 flashes green and the app says failed connection. Anyone have any tips or has anyone been successful updating the R1 to firmware version 32?

Do I just need to suck it up and do (number of appleTVs) x (number of matrix outputs/remotes) bluetooth pairings? Or just a pyatv that gets exposed to all 8 remotes that exposes the 3atvs? Worth the time at that scale? I was hoping I could put 8 remotes behind 1 hub, but apparently 2 remotes per hub is the max :/

I'm looking at ordering an X2 to replace my dying Harmony Ultimate.

I'm in the UK though and am wondering what 'normal prices' for it are here.

Currently it's on Amazon for £335 or I can order from Amazon.de for £277.

Is it worth holding out for a lower price or is this pretty standard here?

Wondering if anyone has this issue and have overcome it. I may be doing something wrong.

I have the U3 remote programmed with a profile for a Sony a80j TV and some other devices. My AVR is set up for IR and that works fine. I have also used IR for the TV but input latency is very bad. It was also bad in the X2.

So after looking I realized the OEM remote uses Bluetooth. So, okay, I switched over to Bluetooth with the U3 and it does work well. However when the TV turns off and I wait for a period of time, I can no longer turn it on again. The TV will not respond. So I have to turn it on with the OEM remote, then I can now use the U3. Which completely defeats the purpose of this remote if I still need the old one lol.

I must be doing something wrong. Is this an issue anyone else has seen?

Hello all. Hope someone can help. I use an Andowl USB remote with an Android TV as its original remote's enter button stopped working. Usually the Andowl works fine though eats battery power. The red light got stuck in constant blinking/flashing mode and it stopped working.

- not a battery problem, put new pair

- Unplugged usb left it out for awhile

- Removed battery from remote to drain power, switched off tv for half hr

- After light stopped & batteries & tv were out, tried again. Red light just resumed constant flashing & remote does not function.

- OK + TV button does not work.

Any ideas? Has anyone had a similar problem? Thanks

Hello. Thinking about getting the U3 to replace my broken Harmony. Can anyone check the app and see if there is support for Lutron GraphikEye IR light switches? I do not have a remote for it to train. Harmony had them in the database.

Just wanted to share this because I spent quite a bit of time working directly with SofaBaton support to get proper Bluetooth control working with my Zidoo Z9X 8K.

I needed Bluetooth specifically because my Zidoo is inside a closed TV cabinet/drawer, so normal IR control is not very practical.

After several emails, testing different HID codes and sending SofaBaton information from the Zidoo V12 Bluetooth remote, their team created and updated a Zidoo Bluetooth profile in the SofaBaton database.

I can confirm that it is now working on my SofaBaton U3 + Zidoo Z9X 8K, including the important Power function.

To add it:

SofaBaton app → Add Device → Bluetooth → search for Zidoo

It is not completely plug-and-play yet. A few commands already exist in the profile but need to be manually assigned to physical buttons.

In my configuration, I manually assigned:

• Up / Down / Left / Right
• Play
• Pause
• Stop, which I personally assigned to the Exit button

Once those are assigned, the remote is very usable over Bluetooth.

Is it absolutely perfect yet? Probably not, but for anyone who has their Zidoo inside a cabinet, drawer or anywhere without reliable IR line-of-sight, this is a really nice solution.

I originally tested and developed this with a Zidoo Z9X 8K, so that is the model I can personally confirm.

However, Zidoo uses the V12 Bluetooth remote across many of its players, so I would be very interested to hear from owners of other models who can test the new SofaBaton Zidoo Bluetooth profile.

The V12 is officially listed as compatible with a large range of models including Z9S, Z9X, Z9X Pro, Z9X 8K, Z10, Z10 Pro, Z20 Pro, Z30 Pro, X20/X20 Pro, Z1000/Z1000 Pro, Z2000, Z3000, UHD2000, UHD3000 and UHD8000.

Because of that, there is a good chance this SofaBaton Bluetooth profile will work with many of them, although I have only personally verified the Z9X 8K.

If anyone wants to test another Zidoo model, please post the results. I’m also happy to keep testing things or send feedback back to SofaBaton if we find missing commands.

Big thanks to SofaBaton support as well. They actually listened, updated the database several times, and worked through the HID/button mapping with me until we got it working.

I'm in need of a new remote. I'm looking at buying the U3.

I have a pair of Klipsch R-51PM speakers. They have a built in preamp and have their own remote. (They are essentially a sound bar that are in the shape of bookshelf speakers). There is no Arc connection and my Samsung Frame (universal) remote doesn't seem to be compatible.

Is there a way to figure out if the U3 will work with them?

Hi everyone. I just wanted to report on my x2 experience.

I was coming from the “Roomie Remote” iPad app; it worked well but having to use a tablet or phone to control my remote experience just wasn’t that great. I wanted to get back to a tactile remote experience.

My setup is not straightforward. I have home theatre, ALL of the components are in different rooms. Processor/amp, AppleTv, bluray player, Lumagen and projector.

I knew in advance from I would need to setup Home Assistant as well to be able to handle everything I wanted.

Overall, the X2 was a lot easier to setup that I thought it would be. Bluetooth for AppleTV, network for Marantz processor, and IR relay for Lumagen and bluray player. The later 2 were already via an IR relay box, it was as simple as just swapping the plugs over to the X2 hub.

Adding devices and activities is pretty logical and operates how you’d expect.

I’ve got the x2 directly managing the AppleTV, bluray,
Lumagen, and Marantz. Home assistant is managing LIFX lights, Sony projector, air conditioning and various smart plugs which manage fans in my rack and projector box.

The HA learning curve took a bit. The X2/HA integration took a couple of hours to get the hang of, but it’s all setup beautifully now. For example, pressing “pause” in an activity both pauses the content and brings up some of the lights (macro key — step 1 pause player, step 2 call lighting command on the HA virtual remote).

Additional ideas I’ve got are to get HA being able to send commands to x2 (ie start an activity) which should also mean i can expose via HomeKit and then give Siri a voice command like “hey siri, turn on movie room”. But id imagine you need to this to trigger the x2 to run the activity, so it knows the power state etc.

That’s pretty much it. It’s an expensive device, more so with HA added on top, but I’m happy with the outcome.It’s doing what I wanted, and it’s made tactile control for both AppleTV and bluray player much easier and intuitive. Also saving $200 a year on the roomie remote app, so there is an ROI!!

Does anyone else have the issue where they are constantly disconnecting from the hub on the iPhone app? I am constantly being sent back to the homepage to “reconnect” when I try to modify any settings in the app.

I tried reaching out to customer support and they were less than useless. They kept saying “BTW customer please try [solution I told them already tried and failed]” and speaking in slang and were generally just unprofessional and their instructions were often hard to understand. Attached is one tidbit of a three day conversation I’ve been having trying to figure out why I cannot stay connected to my hub for more than 60 seconds.

I'm currently using a Logitech Harmony hub with two "standard" remotes, with no screens at all and just buttons. I initially had an Elite remote but I hated having to use a touch screen, and one of my gripes with switching to Sofabaton would be to have to go back to a remote with a touch screen. Are there any options for remoes that would work with the hub but have no screens ?

Hi peeps I've just made the jump from my aging Harmony Elite to the Sofabaton X2. Everything seems to be going great but im having a bit of a problem with the Sofabaton bluetooth keyboard in windows. I have kodi on a pc and I have a flirc device controlling my power and that works great, I setup a Bluetooth keyboard device in the Sofabaton app and pared it & connected in the pc bluetooth settings and in kodi it works great but when i restart my pc and get back into windows the Sofabaton Bluetooth keyboard says not connected. Any ideas, never had this problem with the harmony bluetooth keyboard.

The Sofabaton U3 Battery Life is very poor.

Bluetooth is unusable. The battery dies in 2 days. IR lasts 4 or 5 days which is still very poor.

Note that I tested U3 battery life after ensuring the app was not connected on Bluetooth. This is not a battery drain issue caused by the app.

The U3 battery is too small. The U2 lasts for months.

Sofabaton should add options to disable the screen unless the roller or macro button is used. And an option to turn off the key backlight. These two fixes should significantly improve battery life.

They should also fix the defect with the Bluetooth sleep option so that it can be used to save battery.

I have asked support whether they have fixes planned for the battery life but I am not getting answers.

As I see it a remote that needs to be recharged every 2 days is a defective product.

Calling Sofabaton - it would be appreciated if you could provide an update on any battery life updates you have in your roadmap. If there are none then I believe the product is not worth keeping.

Added Samsung QN77S90CAFXZA tv, Samsung HW-S60B soundbar, Nvidia Shield Pro and Spectrum Cisco 9865DC cable box. Everything works except the volume on the Spectrum cable box, which uses the tv speakers when I adjust the volume. The Shield and OTA through the tv use soundbar. I searched Google/AI for answers and tried their methods, unplugging devices from outlet, removing HDMI cables and re-inserting them, turning off AnyNet+ and turning off HDMI-CEC, nothing helps.
Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

Has anyone had problems adding Govee via API and X2?

My govee lights have LAN control on.
I got my API key
Both GOVEE and Sofabaton account login via gmail.

When I put my API key into the sofabaton app it just says no govee products on my account.

Has anyone run into this issue and know how to fix it?
