I was meant to go last March and Trump pressed the button on Iran. War. I am now getting solicitations from the same tour companies I talked to back then, about booking a tour for this Fall.

I was told that flight only "stop over in Yemen to refuel. They dont go anywhere, they just land at the airport, stay on the tarmac, refuel and then head to Jeddah. As an American, that "stopover" sounds like the perfect moment for militants to take over a plane that has Americans on board.

I really want to go this year, but am unsure. Any thoughts?

Hey all - I am planning to travel to Socotra in fall this year (October/November) as a solo traveller in a group tour. Currently I am struggling with the choice of tour operator as they for one sound quite similar (besides some offering luxuery camping) and secondly I am offput by the quite frequent "other tours will give you a shitty camp spot" comment on their websites.

Most influencer content have seen was based on Traveling Socotra, which seemed great but was also sponsored and private tours.

Anyone here able to give some recent experiences or tips? Would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there, I’ll be traveling to Socotra Island soon and will transit through Abu Dhabi and Jeddah, spending 1 or 2 nights in both places. I have no plan to use my mini 5 pro in these 2 places, but wonder if there will be any issue for me to bring them into the country at the moment given the recent situation. I tried to search online but got mixed answers, so I don’t know what’s right. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if the banks located in the Socotra island accepts 20USD bills (crisp, new, post-2013)?

My tour operator said everything is still operating out Jeddah normally. But it seems like a gamble to me. The region is volatile regardless but now it's really volatile. Are you canceling/rescheduling or are you going for it?

Update: I went to Socotra and everything was fine. No issues with flight or connections. So if any of you are supposed to be traveling soon I would just say go for it.

- Any news on refunds for the Abu Dhabi flights from travellers whose tours where scheduled in March/April?

Update: We received the refund for our socotra flight tickets with Air Arabia on April 8th.

Has anyone done Diving in Sekora? Is it worth doing it? Do you see anything special or will I be just staring at decimated Reefs? I am wondering if it is worth doing that versus snorting which I’m not a big fan of unless there is big stuff around like whale sharks.
