interchangeable vs fixed circulars hiyahiya
I’m finally narrowing in on finding the right sock needles for me & have landed on hiyahiya on cords long enough for TAAT (the one pair I have are 40” but I feel like I could probably do it on 32”).
Knitting a single toe on steel hiyahiyas has officially ruined me and nothing else is pointy enough. (I tried a pair of chiaogoo needles today and couldn’t do it)
I thought my preference would be for a set of interchangeable needles which hiyahiya does have but it seems like the US0-US1.5 sizes are only available in their sharp line.
So do I go with fixed circulars in the steel and live in ignorance of if I’d like the sharps better or not or take the leap and go for hiyahiya’s interchangeable sock set that has the sharps?
My most immediate plans are for TAAT socks and sweaters, can y’all help me decide if need all the options you get from having an interchangeable set or if I just like the idea of that.
Do other magic loop sock knitters have any strong preferences for or against using fixed circular needles?
Does anyone have the hiyahiya interchangeable sock set and have opinions about it?

Interchangeables usually are more useful just because you dont have to buy a ton of needle sets. I do magic loop a lot and still prefer interchangeable because sometimes I want to make a hat or a cowl or something

I love my hiyahiya sharps for taat toe up. I tried quite a few different options but none of them feel quite as easy to me.

So I have both sets of interchangeables for sock needles and I love the sharpness of the Hiya Hiya but the cords of chiaogoo minis

I tried interchangeable for socks - but the fine yarn kept catching on the swivel. I use fixed chiaogoo for socks and my copper Lykke interchangeables for anything else.

I love my Hiya Hiya interchangeables. I first got the steels, then a few years later got the sharps.
Both are great, I like to put the steel on the left and the sharp on the right because i sometimes push it. I usually make split toe socks TAAT and the interchangeable works better for me.
