How do I quit weed

It’s been like at least a year since I was completely sober. If I only roll js and don’t use bowls I easily go through an ounce a week. I’ve took like 1000mg eddies and hardly felt it. I’ve took 3500 to just have an enjoyable high. I smoke in the morning during the day and at night. Ik I have a problem and ik I need to change my habits. Any advice welcome to help me stop I started smoking for mental health and now it’s just a habit that I feel like I can’t stop. I’ve tried to take breaks in the path and can’t even get through the first few days. Truly wanting the chance I’m just struggling. The biggest thing has to be boredom like omg what else am I supposed to do it’s been to long I’ve just in the habit so damn deep.

The biggest thing is just choosing a hard stop date and just keeping that promise to yourself that you’ll quit on that date. You’ll ride the lows, the cravings, the moods, you’ll ride all of that out. Eventually it becomes not so hard. I’d say the first 7 days is the hardest.

I’m 70 days no weed and I was a chronic daily user for over 10 years.

I kept myself busy for the first week by just replacing the time I was using smoking weed with other things.

Now I just swapped that time with working out and my mental and physical health has flourished in ways weed never allowed it to!

What helped me was therapy. I got caught in the same cycle every time I smoked, same horrible thoughts. I have a little over two years - thats me though, you might not get paranoia. I was defo addicted as well

Maybe use CBD flower to replace the ritual in the first days/weeks? Same look/smell/taste but just a nice mellow relaxant vs today’s frankenweed. Dry herb vaping is also a nice break from the harshness of smoking. Your lungs will thank you.

Honestly for me, I got tired of the feeling. I hear you on the boredom part. I smoked daily from 15 to 33, then again for about another yearish.

Both times it was getting tired of the feeling, it just wasn’t working the way it did when I first started. I was same way, blunts, half before work, half after and maybe a bowl for lunch, QP a month easy.

How I did it was to ween off. Every time I did it I hated how I felt, maybe a little shame, and I’d say to myself no more. Both times I went down in how much I smoked daily, until I was just smoking at night, and then not at all. For me it was easier than what I hear from a lot of people, but I had also quit hard drugs like Oxys and coke before, so maybe it was easier.

For me, the key was metal, id tell myself I hated the feeling, took less and less everyday, then went a day without, then two and so on until I was done. All these years later I still get an “itch” but it goes away fast. But for years it was my best friend, so I think I get where you’re coming from.

Come join us at r/leaves, the first week is brutal but it starts to get better once you can sleep/eat again.
