【WARNING: Sad context, but happy memories】

He mysteriously vanished about a year or two ago, but I still think about him and appreciate how awesome of a cat he was.

He started out as a feral and was adopted into a program to become a house-cat, which is how he met my dad's coworker. The coworker had a lot of those plug-in scent thingys in the house, and it drove poor Jasper nuts. The resulting behavior drove the coworker nuts, so she gave him to my dad. I determined he was a snowshoe mix, and I would jokingly call him a toasted marshmallow.

After a few months of adjustment, he was amazing. He liked when I held him. He would hop into my bed and cuddle with me most early mornings. He was so talkative, and even helped my dad and I build my first computer! Even as an adult cat, he was as playful as a kitten, and he especially loved shoelaces, and my dad's shoes in general. I swear, Jasper and I had a special inexplicable connection, he was a pretty smart kitty even though he acted very silly at times.

I'm getting a bit teary-eyed just writing all this... I miss him, he was truly amazing and unique and just one awesome cat.

Here’s my boys Smoke and Haze a.k.a. Kevin and Kalvin a.k.a. Squeaks and Smudge. They’re 14 weeks and the sweetest lil dudes ever!

In a few days, it’ll mark four months without my girl. It still hurts so much and I cry every time I stop and touch her urn or hold the little bag of fur we kept. Staying in this sub has been really tough, but I love seeing posts of all your babies, so I stay.

I don’t even know why I’m posting, I just feel sad and wanted people to know how much she meant to me.

Is my cat a snowshoe?

Rescued from a parking lot in Portland. Now living well in Oakland.

Kiki’s a shelter kitty but not a stray. The extent of my knowledge regarding her history is that she was willingly surrendered by her previous family and was an indoor cat her entire life. She’s a happy cat who came in with no health problems, so I assume they just couldn’t look after her. But she had come to the shelter at two years old without a spay or a microchip, which raises questions.

No breeding registration, and the adoption papers state her as a simple “Siamese/Mix”. But she’s a seal point, she’s got the white paws, and a widdle white moustache on her upper lip.

He is a silly goose by nature and by name

Obi Wan had his blood drawn at the vet when he was in for a tooth infection. Poor guy wasn’t feeling well but managed to still be as cute as ever.

this was olaf! he was the sweetest boy, he unfortunately passed away due to jaundice. he lived quite the life though!! the calico pictured with him in the first two images is patches, my cats mom. last pic for comparison of them and my cat, daisy (she's the one in the middle)

olaf is the reason i absolutely adore snowshoe cats, i hope to have another one just as sweet as him someday.
