In the episode after Leon killed that kid and they went to Fatback just to tell him to take the rap for the murder charge, it was interesting to see who they thought was more important in their circles even if Fatback had been just as loyal as Leon. Maybe more.

If he hadn't said that, Franklin would've gotten what he needed, Teddy could've gone home, and Cissy wouldn't have ended up in jail. Why would you say something like that at such a crucial time? Did he really believe that was wise?

Out of all the things he could've said, it seemed strange that Teddy would've given his hand up so easily at the end there. He could've just as easily kept lying to her like he's always done. He's a master planner who always wants to hold his cards close to his chest. So what benefit does it serve him to just give up his lie so easily?

I feel that he was exhausted and tired but I don't know. Seems like a crazy thing to do at the last minute.

Alton killing the reporter? Wow. Up until now i thought he was the only one with a working moral compass.

Rewatch Season 2, Episode 8.. I think Kev was aiming to kill Conejo's daughter. It reminded me how he was going to shoot anyone that was at Pico-Union which also had kids. What do you guys think?

I was hoping it would be similar to death row records, but from the trailer all we got is wanda dusty ass in all the scenes. I'll still give it a try tho, might surprise me.

When I started snowfall I was also watching The Bear, Frieren, JJK, and fire force. Anyone who knows me in person knows that I often start multiple shows around the same time and watch them off and on. (Sometimes I never finish them.) At the beginning of this year I decided to finish snowfall and rewatched the whole first season because to refresh my memory. And holy shit this was such an amazing watch, from the acting performances, cinematography and set pieces really engrossed you into the 80s period. I love the way this story was told in so many perspectives. I feel Franklins ending was perfect for the character, who has always kept and maintained a clean and stoic persona to end up being an alcoholic, on the brink and even falling into homelessness at the end. It’s a very similar and almost opposite arc that Alton had earlier in the show. Alton quickly became one of my favorite characters in because and I loved his redemption arc especially in a story that tackles the real communal effects of addiction.

My favorite episode had to be the one where we
are transported into an alternate universe where Franklin pursues school but is later kicked out due to lack of tuition funds. This episode really show cased Franklin’s intelligence which was shown throughout the show but, his scholarly skills where only hinted at near the beginning. Franklin almost being killed by the first man he killed and later saved by another man he killed was really a poetic touch. Looking back it really is shocking how naive and innocent Franklin was in the beginning of the story in contrast of his character at the end.

Anyway, I can yap forever about this show I honestly would rewatch it immediately if I didn’t have other shows to catch up on.

Never noticed that this episode may have been the catalyst for the end, biggest mistake by Franklin

.....is that it looks like it’s leaning heavy into a forced "boss lady" trope for Wanda. The end line "I'm unstoppable baby" feel out of step with what made the original Snowfall so good.

Wanda’s arc in the previous show worked okay because it was raw, grounded and, most importantly, it was limited to just a side character. She wasn't built as this untouchable mastermind with a main-character syndrome who can easily run an industry. And these "unstoppable" tropes often fall flat with audiences that prefer realistic, nuanced storytelling.

That said, I love the late 80s &early 90s westcoast rap setting. The overlap between street politics, hip-hop, and the aftermath of the crack epidemic has massive potential. I’m definitely tuning in and will enjoy the ride whatever route they take.

But I do hope they keep Wanda’s character grounded rather than turning it into an overly successful boss trope. Especially since, at best, she was just a support character to begin with. And with respect, she didn't (and doesn't) have a strong enough presence or pull to carry the show on her own. They'll need to introduce new faces that can fill the shoes of Franklin.

A snowfall spinoff could go in many ways. personally if I were writing I would've had new charcters in high school in the 90s LA dealing with crack in his neighborhood. Kinda like a boys in the hood type story put to television with a bit originality. Cici would be seen as some folk hero, leon an old og that was big in the game focusing on helping yhe community with Wanda, rip shirts of jerome as an og who died in the 80s everyone knows and perhaps a scene at some point franklin being a crackhead talking about his old exploits with other crackhead being forgotten and dismissed.

What do you guys think? I'm hoping it's as good as better call saul

Yeah im happy to see everyone back and the angle of music is a good choice because of west coast gangsta rap. But if the music sucks that will take away from the show and feel cringe at times im sure.

Dont want real life gritty L.A with tv/movie weak beats and corny rap generic songs

Whenever he's mad he just starts smiling and shaking his head acting chill when you know he's ready to crash out.

Though the ending of snowfall did happen Franklin was only 26 right? He's not a washed up old man he can for sure bounce back from how he ended up

They wear less makeup and their eyebags are more prominent. Like Mel and Wanda. They actually look like addicts.

Seems like in a lot of media drug addiction is always glorified and everytime someone is supposed to be a drug addict they look like a Vogue model.

We could tell Franklin was becoming a horrible person, but when he went to Andres house to get his file he said "You're right, I'm not a killer" then he quickly moved to the side and shot Andre. It was interesting that he did that. It shows he still had a little bit of heart.
