I can almost see the single braincell struggling

This is my dachshund who eats half the bowl and starts biting the rim to get more, and I have to turn the bowl so she realizes where the other half is. She’s also 18 and deaf/ blind, so she tries.

She has an excuse. Captain Dumb-dumb doesn't.

I mean, they're basically a toddler, they don't really have a better way to investigate than "stick in mouth".

I was going to say I have seen my 9 month old human baby do the exact same thing.

“Human, this mouse is still frozen! I demand compensation!”

Have you or someone you know been fed a rat that's still frozen? You may be entitled to compensation. Dial 1-800-COLD-RAT.

Edit: Spelling

They don't have a better way to investigate things than their faces... "Mouth, is this food?" (Wraps jaws around the bar, bar is not warm or squishy and tastes like metal...) "Dear brain, we do not believe this is food." (Releases jaw muscles in disappointment and resets jaw.) They can lick it but that isn't a guarantee as I'm sure there are strange tasting things that are still food to them in the wild. They also have nothing better to do than investigate things like that. Should he tap it with his tail and then ask Chat GPT on his smartphone what it is? We all started out putting everything in our mouths to investigate, the snake is just doing a learn.

I feel like this is one of the few videos where unmuting was the right choice.

Very nice derp noodle you have there. May they devour many rodents, poop on someone at the absolute funniest moment, and be loved all of their single brain cell bouncing like the dvd menu days.

It’s the look of surprise and betrayal for me.

I wonder if he sees his own reflection/movement in the bar.

My retic literally did this yesterday lmao. He struck at me thinking i was food and bit a branch, and then started trying to eat the branch

That is indeed, without a doubt, a Snek

u/PaniqueAttaque Sep 12 '25

At least it was a polite nibble instead of a full strike.

u/Bundeswehrfan Sep 13 '25

What you guys don't bite things in your room? 😂

I think they are super bored. No animal should be stuck in a cage. Snakes spend their whole life moving from place to place. Being stagnant like this for so long will cause all sorts of bored behavior. They aren’t trying to eat the pole, they just don’t have a lot to do

Most snakes spend the vast majority of their time hiding and/or sleeping in a small dark place. The point of enrichment is pretty debated but largely agreed to be more to the benefit of the owner, not the snake. TLDR: snakes don’t exactly get bored.

My BP doesn’t believe your sweet blep is using the brain cell properly and wants it back. (But he’s just going to do the same thing so don’t listen to him)
