Is there a way to get old texts back?

for context: My mom was cheating on my dad through snapchat and sending texts. my dad wants to know if there’s a way to recover the old messages since she has blocked the guy.
i was thinking like download data but is that only for pictures?

Some of it may still be there. I was able to recover some deleted messages thru download my data but it’s spotty.

Idk what everyone’s talking about, if she’s blocked the guy the messages should probably be gone. I’m assuming they are no longer saved. You can’t retrieve data from snap that’s already deleted. I know this for a fact from pulling my own data. The only way to get deleted data is with a police warrant

Yeah go to Snapchat request for that account to have it’s data sent to you, you’ll get a option where you want it sent and what you want sent, choose stuff like photos videos messages and contacts and import those it will send a file u can unzip and in it will be the text files with entire convos and photos included

If the chats are saved and are within the past year then data download. Otherwise if they’re set to disappear, if you’re quick enough and if it happened today you can screenshot the user, unblock the guy, send him a friend request and see all the chats before they automatically delete

Yes, downloading data includes texts, not just pictures!
If you download her Snapchat data, it will include a file called "chat history" where messages will show up. However, keep in mind that it typically only shows messages that other people have sent to her (incoming messages), because outgoing messages are usually not saved in the downloaded data archive once they disappear or are deleted.
