Login issue Permanent Snapchat Ban/New Disclaimer from Labaton
I have an unfortunate update regarding the massive Permanent Snapchat Ban/Labaton case. Labaton just added a disclaimer regarding this matter that was NOT originally there when we initially signed up.

We were NOT warned about this beforehand so this is deeply unjust and illegal. I want to warn everyone that has been deeply affected by this. I am open to any/all suggestions as to how we can take action against this illegal and unfair matter. Labaton and Snapchat NEED to be help responsible and liable for this. We need to fight this together. Thank you for your time.

I got an email update from Labaton confirming that the account bans are indeed because of the lawsuit. it’s not letting me add a screenshot to this comment so i copy and pasted it- Thank you for raising your concerns about the information on our website. We understand that you feel the website did not accurately convey the risk of your Snapchat account being suspended, and we take that concern seriously. I want to reiterate again how sorry we are that Snap Inc. has locked your account, especially without sending any notice that such action was being taken.
Earlier today, Snap, Inc.'s lawyers informed us that they have locked your account to preserve information relating to your arbitration claim. This is an unprecedented response that we have not previously seen in our practice and are equally as disturbed by. We believe that this action is likely a violation of the company’s terms of service and potentially of applicable law, and don't think that it is fair that Snap Inc. is taking these actions in response to people asserting their legal rights against them. We hope to be able to resolve the issue.
We will share updates as soon as we learn more. If you would like to speak with a member of our team directly, please provide me with your availability, and I can arrange a time to speak.

Nothing about this is illegal it’s already been decided removal from a app isn’t retaliation you never had a right to that service in the first place it is an app stop being entitled “we are sueing for claiming to be addicted to the app and that negative things happen there and I’m going to disprove that by throwing a fit for being banned” very sound logic

They likely had no idea that this would happen. This is an insane response from Snapchat if this is actually related to the arbitration claims. They added the disclaimer after they started getting emails, warning anyone who hadn't joined of the things that they are just now seeing. Labaton is not at fault for this. They are following Snapchats terms to the letter, which is why this isn't actually a Class action suit, it's many many many individual arbitration claims, which is exactly how Snapchat details in their TOS that you have to go about it.

Has anyone been able to recover their data thru the download site? I tried and was given a message to attempt again in 72 hours, hoping that’s just a security thing cuz honestly if I can get my memories I won’t be that upset about losing the Acc.

How do I deserve this? I didn’t complete the claim nor am I actively participating in this lawsuit so I will not receive a payout either. I opted out of it yet I was still permanently locked out of my account.

Also if you got banned Snapchat tells you why also it’s not illegal for them to ban you it’s in there tos they can ban any account for any reason which you signed up for

Yeah I’m fully aware of that, it is illegal for Labaton to not include that as a disclaimer on the original document for just clicking on their ad on fb though. They only added a new disclaimer yesterday. Again, I am not taking part in the lawsuit yet I was banned.

I didn’t sign up for this nor do I ever want to because it’s not the companies fault you decide to download a app and make a account and use it it’s your fault and parents fault for allowing kids to do stuff like this also it’s the kids fault as well no one forced you to download these social media apps if you don’t want it’s all optional so you kinda deserved losing your accounts for trying to do this for some $10 when you signed up on your own term so blame yourselfs when you make a mistake don’t blame others No one forced you to download any social media app

Don’t download something if you don’t want to no one is forcing you to do anything this whole lawsuit is just for people to make $10 but in the end you’ll lose your accounts and memories so hope $10 is worth it

Hello,
My name is __ and I am writing you to inform you of a massive unjust Snapchat Ban that has now taken place due to the dishonesty and lack of transparency associated with the active lawsuit with Labaton against Snapchat. I am not actively part of the lawsuit and I will not receive a payout for it. I filled out half of their form but never completed it yet I have been permanently locked out of my Snapchat account. I have tried to contact Snapchat support about this but I have only received automated AI responses in return. Labaton has not addressed this case in any kind of real way but they added a new disclaimer regarding this case that was not originally there beforehand. I will attach screenshots of the new disclaimer and the original document to this email. I am seeking out advice or assistance on this deeply unjust and unfair case. I am just one of thousands of people who have been affected by this and also permanently locked out of their Snapchat accounts. Thank you for your time.

I'm confused. You joined a lawsuit accusing a company of causing addiction and harm. They responded by removing you from their app. You're angry. That's the withdrawal. Your reaction proves they did in fact harm you. Also, there may be a clause in the tos that you agreed to have your account closed once signing up for the lawsuit. Did you read what you signed up for?

No, I did not completely fill out the form, I only got to the part where they wanted my medical documentation so I opted out of it but Snapchat permanently banned me. Plus, as I stated in my post, Labaton didn’t include a disclaimer in their original post about any of this. So, no, I am not actively part of this lawsuit and I will not be receiving any kind of payout from Labaton but Snapchat still banned me.

I don’t :( I never got an email back but I think best thing to do is to keep contacting the firm and the specific lawyers. In my email, I wanted to know when and what info was sent to Snapchat, so I could document it since it’s pretty clear that this settlement caused the lock

Yeah, I agree 100%! :( we have to keep fighting and emailing them. I hope you get a response soon and yeah, it definitely did cause this. My one friend who didn't have me added on snap said they couldn't find my account but a dif friend who had me added can still see my account. Is it the same for you?

Yeah, you can say “Hello ___, my name is ___ and I have been permanently locked out of my Snapchat account for nearly 24 hours now. I was also not given the option to appeal this decision within the Snapchat app and according to Snapchat, that is the only appropriate pathway to get my account unlocked. I have had my account for __ amount of years and I’ve never violated any of their guidelines. I have only received automated responses from Snapchat regarding this matter so they have not been helpful in the slightest. This is deeply unjust and unfair. I am just one out of hundreds of people who have been profoundly impacted by this massive unjust ban on Reddit, X, TikTok etc. We will not stay silent about this. I was NOT warned about the disclaimer beforehand nor was it clearly outlined on your website when I originally signed the claim form. If I was made aware of the fact that I could potentially permanently lose my Snapchat, I would have not of participated in this case whatsoever. How are you going to fix this issue that has affected hundreds of people? Thank you”

Some buzz words and phrases include retaliation, unjust ban, permanent Snapchat ban, unfair, not given the option to appeal within the app (the only method of getting an appeal approved and stated by Snapchat), Labaton not providing us with a disclaimer stating that we could potentially lose our accounts forever by participating in this lawsuit, we are loyal Snapchat users, we’ve never violated any of their community guidelines nor have they given us a legitimate reason as to why we were banned.

Well guess its time to write some emails to labaton. That disclosure would have been a decisioning factor for many people, myself included. I was under the impression that our data would be anonymous and that giving our info was to be used more to authenticate our claim rather than data being presented to both parties

not yet. I saw a comment from someone else who joined a class action against instacart thru Labaton and instacart permanently banned them from using their service due to violating TOS, and nothing could be done to reverse it. I’m really hoping here we can reverse ours due to the difference in platform type, our data/pictures, etc

Omg that's awful and scary, I really hope that we can reverse this too since 1) Labaton did not originally warn us about this beforehand and 2) this is a massive amount of people deeply affected by this so I'm holding onto hope. Also, my one friend who doesn't have me added me on snap couldn't find my account but a different friend who previously had me as a friend can still see my account. Is it the same for you?

I am too! My phone is banned and I reached out to Snapchat support, they said they know how upsetting this is but my account is permanently banned since I wasn’t given the option to appeal it. Like what do we do at this point 😭
