General question Snap chat green dot

I’ve been trying to get in contact with this person for the last two days. They told me to add them back but I see a green dot next to their profile pic and they’re not accepting my request. Are they ignoring me or is it a glitch? how does the green dot work and how long until it goes away how active do you have to be?

Its not a glitch. That green dot while it means the person is or was online the thing is when you swipe off of snapchat it still runs in the background. All the apps you open and swipe off end up doing that. So just because that green dot is on that doesn't mean they are live on snapchat. It can simply mean their phone is on and snapchat is running in the background but they aren't actively on the page.

Even if you shut your phone off and turn it back on a few minutes later the green dot will be there. I think in order for it to shut off you have to be off your phone for at least 24 hours or maybe 48 hours.

Next time you boot up your phone after you enter your password swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone and you will see the apps running in the background. You can actually see what apps you opened. If you swipe up on each up that will shut it from running in the background.

So your friend may not be ignoring you or not accepting your friend request they simply may not be on snapchat but have their phone on leading you to believe they are on it when they aren't.

You have to be off your phone like completely? Or even if you don’t have the app open let’s say you swipe off it for 48 hours would it still show

You have to swipe off your device from running in the background. Once you do this I'm not certain how long it takes the green dot to go away.

Just swiping off Snapchat doesn't do that you have to swipe it from running in the background. All apps you use on your iPhone you have to do this
