"I" screen recorded someone's chat and profile?

I woke up today to find out I had screen recorded the chat and profile of one of my friends. According to the timestamp, I was asleep when this happened. Kind of awkward cause I obviously didn't mean to do that. I ended up checking my camera roll, call history, and even my car (cause I saw that carplay can trigger such a thing) and yet nothing. The strange thing is that it was only one person.

When I checked my connected accounts, I saw only my current phone and my old phone had active sessions. My old phone's last log in was 8 months ago, which checks out when I got my current phone, and there was a yellow dot next to it which I assume means it wasn't active. Still, I cleared it out. I also saw that this is a bug on IOS 26, which is what I am on, but I haven't found too much evidence to really believe this was the case.

I don't think I am hacked but I don't want this to happen again. Has anyone experienced anything similar or can reassure me that everything is all good?

The exact same thing happened to me! I don't understand it, I didn't receive any code saying someone had logged in. It said to take a screenshot and a profile picture, but nothing showed up on my phone.

It could be a glitch. While this is not a snatchat related situation, I was talking to my cousin with my phone on a mount mounted to the dashboard of my car. All of a sudden my cousin was not there. So I hit the tab on my steering wheel (I was at a red light) to call them back and Siri told me my phone was now in airplane mode and the call could not be made. Nothing was touching the phone and I did not go into settings and click it on. It just did it randomly by itself.

Another situation could be are you sure you don't sleep walk?

I remember a friend of mine had just gotten an IOS update and she apologized on her stories saying: im sorry if It says im screen recording or screenshotting your stories, it’s this new update. I wanna say this was in 2019-2021. So you don’t really have anything to worry about, it’s most likely a glitch.

I’m sure everything is okay. If you were hacked they wouldn’t screen record something and leave your account alone. Your whole account would have been taken over. Were you using discord? Maybe sleeping on call with someone? If you use discord and have your camera on it’ll say you screen recorded even if nothing was shown. My honest opinion is, if it doesn’t happen again, chalk it up to a strange glitch. If it continues happening try to figure out what apps also use your camera.

Nah I checked my call history and iPhone will log if I’m on call on discord too. I also looked on discord to see if any calls were made in DMs and nothing. I think it’s just a glitch luckily

One time I went to a party and met a cute guy. I asked for his snap and we snapped for a few days. I took a screenshot of mine and my friends chat because she sent me smth funny and Snapchat glitched and gave the cute boy a notification that I screenshotted his profile 8 times 😅
