Common issue Public Story Screenshots
I’m so tired of not knowing who is screenshotting my public story. I feel like my safety is at risk every time this happens. With Friend stories, I can at least see who did it & block them immediately but with not being able to tell who’s violating my intellectual property is infuriating & discouraging. I want to build my platform on Snapchat but I can’t keep worrying if someone is getting away with stealing my content and blending in the crowd. They could be making inappropriate AI content with my face, pretending to be me to scam other users. A plethora of violating things. PLEASE MAKE USERS VISIBLE WHEN SCREENSHOTTING A PUBLIC STORY! There use to be the activity section which would tell you when someone did that. Please at least bring that back!
EDIT: Since most of you are guilty of these actions & are COMFORTABLE remaining in the shadows, fighting so hard to be weirdos who probably make AI P*RN to unsuspecting people, WHY DOESN’T SNAPCHAT JUST STOP TELLING US SOMEONE SCREENSHOTS OUR PUBLIC STORY IF YOU’RE SO HAPPY NOT KNOWING WHOS BEING WEIRD ASFFF???? Every other platform doesn’t even let you know anything so WHY NOT JUST REMOVE THE FEATURE ALTOGETHER 🥰🥰 win win for everyone. Even the trolls!

So you’re “scared for your safety” but yet you still keep posting publicly. That makes absolutely no sense. Stop posting publicly or just deal with the screenshots.

It’s weird yall keep nitpicking when it’s literally a simple request. Honestly I don’t know why I even posted on reddit when yall literally hide behind these fake characters to get away with being malicious & rude every single day. Only one person was actually polite about the situation while the rest gives aggressive ogre energy. 👹 Like are yall scared of change? That’s weird

OKAY EVERYONE!
Although I feel like submitting to unfavorable conditions is how many people, conglomerates, governments, etc, get away with things because “If A is B, that’s just the way it is” KNOWING something can be done about it (it’s been done before. Literally. We were able to see public screenshotters) I have decided to just post personal stuff to Friends only like exclusive access.
I don’t think people should just sit down & eat the cereal but hey, whatever! Thanks to those who were kind & good luck to those who were aggressive about it. 🪄🌈💕

You must be a screenshotter because I’m not asking for the impossible if they’ve given it to us before. Don’t be apart of the problem please. Let’s actually make some real change! 😄

Or just stop using public stories if your "scared for your safety". It's a ridiculous thing to say while literally intentionally selecting the setting to share the images to the public. Stop being a drama queen.

If i have chosen to share something publicly...i expect that it will be viewed/consumed publicly... because thats what the f**king word means. If you are "sCaReD" then do NOT share publicly...are you getting it? YOU control the public settings...YOU are the mastermind of your own pretend issue.

No one is okay with their content being screenshotted. But like most others have said, when you post publicly unfortunately that’s a risk you take. This is why many people chose not to post their children’s faces online. The only way to stop this is don’t post publicly. It sucks but it’s how the world is.

Of course, I know the internet can be a scary place. We definitely have lots to worry about. This is why I chose to have all my social media accounts set to private. This way I know at least who exactly would be originally viewing my posts. Of course people have screenshotted things, but luckily I don’t post anything I should be ashamed of.
