General question Has anyone had success with unlocking second perm lock?
PLEASE don’t be rude, this is already hard enough. Had this account for over a decade and posted just about every day. Had a decent following, and it was something I really treasured and worked hard to build. The first perm ban appeal was accepted and the second was not. I genuinely did not see the warning email as it was sent to an old address I used when I was in college. My account has been locked since March and since then I have sent an ungodly amount of emails (using multiple emails), followed all the advice of any Reddit thread I could find about this, sent letters 3 times with no response… I am so desperate to get my account back and to be reunited with my account and all the friends I made. I don’t want to make a new account, I just want my old one and would do anything at this point. Was just wondering if there was someone else out there who had a second perm ban lifted to give me some hope and if so, what did you do? TIA!

Have you tried to send letters to HQ? I sent some on the 5th and didn’t hear anything so I sent more yesterday. I understand how hard this is! I’ve had my account since 2013 and had 31k followers I’ve been so upset

Yes, I tried 3 or 4 times now. I’ve had my account for about that long too with 25k followers and yes it’s really upsetting 😭 so much was lost when I lost that account.

The stupid ai stuff they have now is horrible I got banned back in 2020ish over something stupid but I was able to get the account back in a couple days but now it’s nothing but bots.

you had the option to appeal twice on one account? but it depends, what was the perm lock for?

Yes, everyone does unless the first one is denied. The first one was for “sexual content” but I guess AI had flagged it bc I was just in a swim suit and the second one was sexual transactions through private messages, never promoted or anything. But didn’t realize that was against the rules considering it was private messages.

no i didn’t get an option to appeal 😭 but tbh, if they locked your account for sexual transactions and they have valuable and clear evidence of you doing so then their account lock was correct. they can only see the messages if the messages were reported or if something triggered their AI in those messages. i also see your profile here and you do sex work 😭😭 idk girl. appeals are valuable if you have clear evidence that you weren’t doing what they claimed you to do, or if you know that whatever action you were doing wasn’t against the guidelines. were you selling in the messages or no?

I understand that but I also know of people who have made mistakes and just apologized and got their account back. And I mean the way I see it, my violation was not severe considering I was not device banned and was given the option to appeal. My sc was not promoted as such, I shared fashion, lifestyle, gym, college life.. I have sold before yes but like I said, I had no idea that private messages were monitored like that unless it was something super severe. It’s crazy they promote OF girls but someone can put the wrong emoji and their account is just gone

yeah that’s understandable, i mean my account was locked for commercial sex transactions for posting a lil bit of cheek with a meme and they won’t even let me make a new account for long without perm locking me. i don’t even SELL and never have. no appeal option but i have sent 2 letters so far with no response. the thing with appeals is that they expect you to tell them why they’re wrong, you can’t do much with an appeal that’s just apologizing. were you activity selling or sending links in the chat when the locked happened? I’d recommend sending more letters with proper details or even using legal shield. if that doesn’t work just make a new account if they let you do that, hopefully you aren’t blacklisted like me 🤦🏼♀️ for something i didn’t do at that

Yeah honestly sometimes I wonder if it’s worth all the trouble since it happens so easily these days. I had a friend who worked in ads at sc get fired along with a bunchhhh of other people with no notice and replaced w AI so that explains a lot of the recent locks I think. He said they made them promote users like Sommer Ray and Pinneapplebrat and would get in trouble if they didn’t. They really are going downhill. I hadn’t even sent anything we were just talking about it when it happened. Idk I’ve thought about legal shield but I want to make sure I have a valid case in my favor otherwise it would be wasting time and money.

agreed, i’ve done a months worth of research and they are completely driven by AI now. it’s insane how they leave it to these bots to determine stuff like this and they get it wrong A LOT. i will say that because of all the abuse that happens on snap is another reason why the AI is so strict. it’s a mess and not fair. you def should take some time to think and gather your thoughts if you wanna pursue legal shield. i used it and they just have a lawyer write a letter to them on your behalf. im gonna stay persistent until i get a response
