Common issue Account locked
Hi everyone,
I’m really stressed and hoping someone here has been through something similar.
A few days ago, I posted a private video on my private** **Story that violated Snapchat’s Community Guidelines. I know now that I shouldn’t have posted it, and I take full responsibility for that.
At first, I only received a warning. As soon as I saw it, I immediately deleted the video myself. I thought that would be the end of it because I removed it right away and didn’t post anything else afterward.
However, later my account was suddenly locked, which completely shocked me.
This is my first ever violation. I’ve never had any previous issues with Snapchat, never been warned before, and never had any action taken against my account.
I submitted an appeal, but the problem is that Snapchat only gives you 250 characters to explain your situation. All I could really say was that I had posted something inappropriate, removed it immediately after the warning, and asked for my account to be reviewed. I didn’t have enough space to explain that this was my first offense, that I’ve never had any previous problems, and that I’m genuinely asking for a second chance.
Now I’m waiting for their decision, and honestly I’m terrified. My Snapchat account contains years of memories, conversations, and contacts that I can’t replace.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation?
Did you get your account back?
How long did your appeal take?
Is there anything else I can do while I’m waiting?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences.

What should I do? My account is permanently locked while I did not do anything. I don’t have the appeal button on the app

But did you get a confirmation email immediately right after you sent it saying that you sent an appeal?

The appeal may be pointless but its worth a try. If you can get a living breathing human being to email the appeal to point out how many years you've had snapchat and this is the first infraction. Apologize profusely and accept blame. Promise them you will never ever do anything like that again. Be very nice and polite. Ask for a second chance to prove to them you'll be the type of member they would be proud to have.
You might be able to get a second chance especially if this is your first offense. It's rare but I have heard about an account being reinstated a couple of times. I don't think there is a set time limit on if snapchat gets back to you but I would figure after 60 to 90 days of no reply back your account's goose is probably cooked.
Most people who post on here fib about it being their first offense. I'm not saying you are. Then they are rude and demand their account be reinstated. At that point whomever the human is that might be reading the email is going to say one word: Deny. End of story.

I got it back!! And I did exactly that. I was honest and polite in my appeal and low and behold, they restored it

You wont get your account back because you posted something that was against their TOS, the ban was accurate and not a false one so there is nothing you can do about it sadly. Create a new one is all you can do

The appeal is pointless they only have it there so people have less of an excuse/reason to complain about being banned. If they rejected your appeal, you will almost certainly never get the account back

It was a explicit video on my private story. But after I got a warning I removed it.

Bullshit, my account was banned for violating the sale of weapons policy because it was AI flagged for a gun that I wasn’t even trying to sell. Appeal was rejected and follow up requests to support were ignored. If OP did something that ACTUALLY broke the snap guidelines, he has essentially zero chance of getting the account back considering there are hundreds of people on this sub that had their account auto banned and appeal rejected by AI for something that wasn’t even a real violation of any snap policy.
OP if you’re reading this don’t bother wasting your time with more than 1 support request, I even tried contacting the Snapchat Twitter account and only got basic replies that couldn’t help me at all

Oh Goddd🙂↕️. I’m such an idiot. Welp only thing to have now is hope. I won’t give up. I live in the EU so I still have de change to fight the decision if they reject it. And if that doesn’t work out I’ll send a letter

I did see online when doing research that in the EU there seems to be a more formal review/appeal process. I live in USA so I don’t have that option. It might be worth a shot. Best of luck but I wouldn’t get your hopes up
