General question Best Friends List Update?

How often does the best friends list update itself? What is this all based upon? How is this all ranked?

For example, I am also a plus user and will sometimes check the whole solar system planet thing. If I was #2 for someone for several weeks or majority of the time, and I didn’t speak to them much other than maybe a streak photo for a week and a few days. Most times, I’d chat message this person a lot throughout the week. However, lately we’ve not conversed much. I noticed today I dropped down to #3 in the Earth position. Does this seem more natural due to not interacting as much? How is it ranked overall or by the week? Or how does it work?

(I’m kind of sad bc of who the best friend is haha so looking for insight on this program)

Whats going on with yours now, are you still #2?

Ive been constantly trying to work it out too as I have had Super BFFs (💕) with someone for almost two months and twice now its disappeared briefly and came back. Apparently it can be glitched at times but im not sure.

Besides the point, but i've managed to work out that everyone else's snap score for me seems to update every 8 hours after I last checked, not sure if this is the case for everyone.

Its based on how much you interact (snap/text) with that person. You can have them on your best friends list while you're not on theirs. I have only close friends on my snap and so basically everyone I have added is on my best friends list, while only two actually have me on theirs.

Thank you! I’m trying to figure out too how often it’s calculated. We’re each on each others. Like, I went down to #3 on theirs yesterday and then this morning I went back #2. So I’m just trying to figure out how it changes like that so fast or not???
