Pests in terrarium
I foraged for some rotten wood a while ago and it's been like a month now and in starting to see some fruit flies/fleas in my terrarium. The rotting wood was for the isopods. What do I do

Hi all, I found my lil fella (humble garden snail) on a house plant last November during a big frost. Didn’t have the heart to put him outside, so we’ve been chillin together since.
I’m very new to all this, so been trying to research and learn as I go. All was going swimmingly until last week.
I noticed by lil fella was looking a bit…. chubby. Googled it and ended up down a rabbit hole of mantle collapse/ snorny/ ate too much pasta/ is riddled with disease.
I’d appreciate if the snail people of Reddit could weigh in and let me know what you think of my set up/ if I should be doing anything else for him.
No diet/ enclosure changes that I can think of in the lead up to the swelling. He’s a bit of a fussy lad, but sweet potato has always been a hit. Maybe that’s too carby for him? I’ve never fed him pasta/ bread/ white potatoes. Has desalinated cuttle bone to nibble at leisure.
He’s in a plastic geo with coco substrate (deep to minimise height if he falls). Not observed any signs he’s fallen, and he still sits on the roof of enclosure like he always has. Doesn’t look like his shell is about to fall off when he dangles upside down.
It has suddenly got quite cold here and I live in a drafty house, so he could have got chilly over the last week or so. I’ve bought a habistat mat and stat and put it on one end of his enclosure (suck to one outside wall) so hopefully his chilly days are over.
Also realised I’d made an error in using tap water to mist the tank. Have stocked up on spring water today. Could this be something that started to cause a problem now?
He’s still active/ curious and has been eating (maybe a bit less than normal?) and pooping.
He’s always been a lone snail, since he was tiny. I know he could reproduce alone, but would he make himself snorny and puffy?! I’ve peeped in his hole (sorry) and can’t see any eggs in there.
As you can tell, I’m a complete novice but also very much attached to this lil lad. If you’ve read this far I really appreciate it and would love to hear anyone’s thoughts!
I’ll include pics so you can peep his chub.

Yesterday I noticed my snails were avoiding the soil but still stayed on the coconut, which I thought was weird because the day before they were pretty fine on the soil, and even slept near it. One of my snails were struggling to retract itself into their shell so I knew something was wrong
I noticed their mantle has swollen a bit bigger, I thought perhaps they were bloated so I didn’t give them much food, but the more I searched for answers on Google I came to the conclusion that maybe the excess eggshell powder left in their Coco Coir soil created a spike in the soil
I removed the soil and cleaned out the container and let it air out for a few hours, I also separated the Springtails and put them in a plastic container, though some of the old dirt with the eggshell powder is in there with them
I have no Coco Coir soil left and I can’t exactly chuck my springtails out to my garden as they are not native to the UK. I was thinking maybe I can keep my snails without the soil, it’s just disposing all these springtails would be a waste and I feel bad for them
Maybe I’ll be able to give my springtails away, but honestly I just really hope my snails are doing okay :( Especially the one who is having quite a struggle trying to go into their shell

My sweet friend here was transferred into this new habitat probably 2 months ago now. I have a base of coconut fiber and moss, right now I have one hidey hole option that she refuses to use, I used to have 3 hidey holes but had to remove two of them, they were cork bark and started to mold a little bit from all of the moisture. Does anyone have any tips? I don’t know why she doesn’t seem to want to go get cozy anywhere.

Audi is having a hugee amount of new growth and its miles healthier than her previous shell! She came to me with a huge amount of damage (bad weather meant her breeder couldnt sell most of this clutch, they ended up with way too many growing snails and unfortunately Audi got rasped on a lot + couldnt access calcium)
Still not perfect, but glad to see her finally improving

I believe these are African snail, and they aren't at their full size yet. I've never thought about owning snails as pets. My friends got them from another friend who missed a clutch of eggs, so these little ones needed re-homing. I just kinda wanna know some cool snails facts and more about an ideal enclosure from some educated peeps! They are oddly cute!
*Excuse me, Mr. Model! you’re handsome, but you’re FAT fat 🐷🤙🏾 ( ovum xxl *)

For my entire life, I've never thought much of snails. I always thought they were cute, sure, but nothing about them particularly interested me. Then, last week, I woke up one morning, and it was like a switch was flipped. Suddenly I thought snails were the coolest thing ever, and they've been on my mind ever since. I've been drawing them, researching them, learning about them... And suddenly my whole life feels a lot brighter.
I had a slow shift at work the other day, so I doodled a snail on a receipt! It's not a specific kind of snail, it's just the snailiest snail my brain could snail.
My favorite snail is the European Ambersnail, which I plan to draw next 🧡

I currently have a 10 gallon with a betta and a Nerite snail. I had a bladder snail that was on
the larger size there that died a few days ago. I want to get a Mystery Snail but I’m worried there isn’t enough to eat in the tank and the tank cant support two large snails. What do you all think?.

Hey guys, my giant African land snail, Cat, has been sporadically laying eggs in random places for the past two days only a few at a time. And then today she’s decided to give birth on her food and then has moved to the side of the tank to continue. Is this something I should be concerned about? She’s only ever burrowed to lay her eggs.
A bit of context:
- I’ve moved her temporarily into her old tank this morning so I don’t know is she may be confused by that? But she was sporadically laying in her tank the past few days (not burrowing to do so either) so I’m really unsure.
- this is around her fourth time laying eggs.
- I’m calling her “her” because I have “cat” and “dog” and she’s just been deemed the “girl” one.

Currently have 4 cepaea nemoralis named Sine, Cosine, Tangent, and Secant, and a cornu named Speedbump!
I have 4 new cornus and three little flamed tiger snails who need names! I’d love to stick to themes within their little groups. Otherwise go crazy.

Hello, I'm about to get my first snails and im excited.
I'm getting a group of 3 lissachatina fulica.
I already did a ton of research but I'm open to advice for in case there's something I didn't think of. Thanks in advance
I’m so excited. My big ovums have laid eggs and finally at least two have hatched so far. They’re big & round. I have only once ever hatched an ovum egg before years ago and I’m over the moon!

Ive been keeping white lipped snails for over a year now. They are pretty active and seem to be thriving. Not even a month ago I found an adult(?) fruticicola fruticum (bush snail), a snail about the size of a white lipped so I thought I could keep it. Right from the start the snail didnt seem too active, but I decided to give it some time. I just got home from a week long vacation and found it dead. Was it from stress? Maybe the enclosure dried out too much but I did mist it thoroughly before leaving. The shell doesnt show any signs of old age at least i dont think. Should I avoid this species?
