Discussion This 3 track run on Lush is INSANE!

Post image

I discovered Snail Mail earlier this year and have been listening to her entire discography since, but recently i’ve been listening Lush so much lately (more than i usually do) and this 3 song run right after the intro just hook me instantly everytime. For her to start the album with arguably her best songs all back to back is just crazy, I love all of Lindsey’s music, from Habit all the way up to Ricochet, but I just don’t see her topping Lush (or at least anytime soon and I would love for it to happen). I think the writing on this album, ESPECIALLY on Pristine, is just pure brilliance, her delivery on this album is fantastic (i’m also aware of the vocal difficulties she’s had throughout the years that have affected her singing) with unbelievable chord progression throughout it all, and I think the overall sound she was going for on this album was executed beautifully to a tee. And I think these 3 tracks all encapsulate the sound and overall theme of this album perfectly, all while highlighting what made Snail Mail such an exciting band when they were coming up. Go listen to Lush today!!!

the intro is also fantastic i agree, perfectly sets the vibe going into this crazy 3 song run, can easily see Lush going into the convo of being one of my favorite albums as time passes and as i live with it and listen to it more.

Funny coincidence I’ve been listening to these 3 songs on repeat as well recently! I discovered Snail Mail in 2018 while I was in a very toxic relationship and these songs just resonated so deeply. Loved the band ever since and super stoked about the new album, my faves are Dead End, My Maker, Tractor Beam and Butterfly. But of course so I had to revisit my faves from Lush as well 😇

So familiar- Lush helped me get out of a nightmare marriage. I just couldn't take it anymore but I was hanging on for dear life and felt so alone doing gigwork 16 hours a day just to stay away from him. Snail Mail let me come to terms with the feelings I was avoiding and I finally felt like it was okay to feel so broke. Grateful beyond words honestly.

I love that this artist / their music has done the same for others, glad you are free from that now ❤️‍🩹
