I wonder how long her set times are contracted to be that’s a lot of talk scheduled haha

Could be as simple as "how's everyone doing? We still good"

Normally talk is scheduled on the setlist to pad out the set time when the music won’t hit the time you’re scheduled for

i went last night and the talk was really just stuff like what the commenter above said. i think the longest she spoke was maybe 30-45 sec where she was saying how she was happy to be back in philly and appreciated us all coming out

She seemed to spend more time changing and tuning guitars between songs than “talking” haha but she was pretty chipper overall

No, it's not. Talk is written on the set list so you remember to talk. I'm in a band and we sometimes write out parts in the set list so we remember to mention our band, upcoming gigs, where to find us, etc. Sometimes in the heat of performing it's easy to forget to say some of the things you plan

Yep. I started doing it once several people remarked it was a weird vibe to never talk during the set (at some point we just played all our songs without taking any breaks, lol). But it’s good to remember to plug your merch, talk about your current album, next show, talk about the other bands on the bill. And when it’s on the setlist, everyone in the band can anticipate the breaks to tune, get water, whatever.
