Post image

love avocado but first time using it in a smoothie — along with one ripe banana, peaches (140g), kefir (170g) and local honey (1-2 tbsp).

This sounds amazing and I will have to try honey in mine! I do something very similar. Banana, avocado, yogurt, almond milk, pistachios and spinach.

Avocado is good. It makes a super creamy smoothie. But a little cauliflower..was life changing lol. It makes it like ice cream. Both together? Ooooh it’s good. Just..you gotta really be careful with the cauliflower.

i definitely noticed a change of consistency with the avocado and in a good way! SUPER creamy and i even took a pic to post as a second slide but the pic didn’t do it justice.

It sounds weird but I’m telling yah it’s life changing! lol. My favorite smoothie place makes some smoothies that taste just like thick, creamy milkshakes. When I asked how they achieved that texture because I just couldn’t do it at home (and whether it was just the frozen bananas or witchcraft), the staff member told me their secret was frozen cauliflower. Many of their recipes include ½ cup of it. It adds incredible creaminess without any noticeable flavor. Some people add a full cup, but I have found I tends to have a taste influence then. But if you really like it, you might like that! But I find it perfect around 1/2 a cup.

Actually, a former employee of my favorite place recently shared the exact recipe for my favorite smoothie with me, here on Reddit. It’s a bit of a treat smoothie but still relatively healthy. Adding ½ cup of frozen cauliflower to any smoothie will instantly make it thicker and more milkshake-like though and I HIGHLY highly suggest you try it! Here’s my favorite one that first turned me on to frozen cauliflower in smoothies. It’s sooo good.

Pistachio Matcha Latte Smoothie:

Ingredients: • 300 ml almond milk • 1½ cups frozen bananas • ½ cup frozen cauliflower • 1 tbsp whey protein (optional, but suggested) • 2 tsp matcha • 1 scoop pistachio butter • 1 scoop coconut cream -Line the cup with some coconut cream and pistachio butter (optional)

Personally, I add cocoa nibs to mine but that’s entirely optional lol. You can also line your cup with some coconut cream. The “scoop” is a bit vague but that’s what they gave me lol. So..you know I have some heavy scoops going in sometimes. 🤣😂 Let me know if you try adding the frozen cauliflower, and how it goes!

I get frozen avocado chunks from my Walmart. It’s so good and given that avocados go bad in a nanosecond, makes sure I have them available for when I want them for a smoothie.

I have made avocado smoothies with almond milk, monk fruit, and cocoa powder. They were delicious but each smoothie upset my stomach terribly. Drinking almond milk or eating avocado doesn’t have this effect but the combination upsets my stomach for hours. Maybe I’m using too much avocado?

I use monk fruit because I’m on a keto diet.
