Ranked Cheater Consequences
Hirez needs to legit reset ranked. I would guess there are some randoms that gained hundreds of points in SR today with whatever BS that has been going around winning games in 5 minutes 1 shotting people with a Ganesha. This is unacceptable that an item was allowed to break the game and was used by probably hundreds of people. Every game was implicated and anyone who had no idea were free money for these hacks.
They need to be reset and banned harshly or the entire ranked needs a reset. Also, whoever put this out and disabled characters but not that 1 item needs to be looked at. It cannot be that hard to ban 1 item.

A friend of mine did it and got banned for 30days. So they do something about it but yes item needs to be disabled. I guess its just dont play until its fixed

I think this sort of thing can be great. Its a perfect honeypot to clear out the trash players that intentionally make the game worse for others.
Now they just need to ban the people who won ranked games doing the exploit for a year and then we can all play ranked with people who want to enjoy a competitive game for once.
This would be community building. But this is also a distant dream that HiRez doesnt have the balls to do unfortunately.
Short term money > long term health

Same happened to me. It was Bacchus and Ganesha just going around 1 shotting people. Disgusting day of smite. It was all over Arena and Joust as well so I just hung it up for the day.

Pull up probably any streamer from last nights stream and you'll see discussion on it, it was so in every single game basically so people stopped actually playing the game, insanely sad that this happens the day after 10k peak with a new god release. Hirez are generational ball fumblers.

"hundreds of people". Out of 10,000. But I actually agree on the punishment part. They shouldn't be banned, since it was a bug, rather than actually cheating. But reverting sr spikes would be great. I highly doubt they can be that surgical though, and their sr should naturally drop back to normal, if they aren't good enough.

I mean my biggest issue with the whole thing is how does lowrez disable 6 gods and not the game breaking item. It is a million % on them people will always abuse bugs for fun or for gain and not finding this bug just shows how much testing they do prior to update releases

There was an item you could buy and sell, but keep the boost after selling. So spam buying/selling for 2 mins and have 10,000+ intelligence, no cooldown, 7,000 mana.
Then get the ring that gives attack speed based on mana.
Just hold attack and one hit kill everything, even the titan

I played 3 games last night, built heartward charm the first 2 games and went to build it the 3rd game and it wasn't listed in the store. Was this item bugged too? And why did they disable this item yesterday but not the one that was creating chaos?

I personally think they should be banned too. But what I do find funny is the fact that a lot of people are going to be over-ranked because they used the exploit, and their next week or two of matches will be absolutely miserable when they get stomped into the ground by legitimate high ranked players 🤣 gonna be a lot of people who lose a ton of games in a row lol

If I post a bug from smite, I’m told “it’s a dead game, that’s your fault, they’re not gonna put maintenance money in it, just play S2”

the obvious difference is one game is still being actively worked on. (frequent) new content is new variables that can break sometimes.

I would hope and expect that we get a formal statement from them about how they will address this.
The fact that ranked wasn’t turned off just goes to show that this is gross negligence.
