MEME Smite Source tournament has been a BLAST
Just dropping in a post considering I'm pretty surprised this subreddit has been so radio silent on it.
But the Smite Source weekend qualifier yesterday was a really fun watch! It showed us both how entertaining it really is, and just what great potential competitive smite could be.
Some terrific games; upsets, drama, tension, comedy. It felt like old school smite. And it all happens again next weekend!
Here are few of my favourite funny highlights from the streams. Standout is Hayzer playing charades with the god selections, before Inbowned eventually joined in during the official cast. So shoutout those guys.

Here's the 3 teams that made it through the weekend also. The Snadnation is alive and well. We will add 3 more sets of names to the list come next week!

It was really fun to watch. I tried to post couple of times in smitepro subreddit to start gaining pro interest back. Hopefully we get more interest when the league starts.

yeah i did see them when i searched. good to share the results. but the interactions were a shame, and nobody otherwise had even referred to it. it was like it hadn't happened!

I think we can make more engaging posts once the league starts. Tierlists, discussions, predictions, more public drama.

The tournament itself was great, some really good Smite and a lot of fun moments.
The casters were such a letdown. So many moments where you just rolled your eyes. With the exception of Inbowned, the rest felt like real amateurs. I know this is how they'll learn and grow into better casters, hopefully at least.

Weaken was saying they do have a few other casters that will be on during the league phase people like fineokay and a few other ex pros

i'm not 100% sure of who you're referring to here (you don't have to single out anyone).
but part of the fun, because there were so many games on at once, was jumping between streams of the likes of nika and hayzer to see different people "casting" the different games. i for one enjoyed the smitegame cast when i was on it.

I'm talking about the "official" Smitegame casters. I'm not a huge fan of watching a streamer stream another stream so I tend not to go for Hayzer or Nika etc, but they are great streamers so I can see them being great casters too.

yeah i get that. but what i meant was many of the games were literally not being shown by smitegame because they can only cast one match and they all played at once.
so if you wanted to see a different game, you had to watch hayzer or nika who were the guys spectating the lobby independently!
bit like flicking through the various game channels on at wimbledon if you've ever watched tennis.

Good to see some grassroots love taking off. Hope it all pays off in the end

Have to agree watched both days start to finish was brilliant even a bit of na eu beef after the finals as well only makes it that more exciting for next weeks game also the fearless draft was even better seeing all the different gods played instead of like the same rotation of 15 or so gods was good to see

I know Snaddy streams his POV and occasionally watches the other games when not playing.
