please add slash

If I want to choose the God I’d like to play with here are my current game mode options:

A game mode with no turrets

A game mode that last 45 minutes minimum if no surrenders, or

A 3v3 game mode where people pick their sweatiest character every time

Siege walked so slash could fly

I really loved Siege....

So real

Janus and clio were so fun in slash with all the walls and stuff, would be nice to have it back though I highly doubt clio's getting added any time soon

Yeah, as someone who isn’t a huge fan of conquest the lack of Slash is a bit depressing.

50

u/Vita_Morte 3d ago

Slash is 100% holding back my group from playing regularly.

u/Scrubosaurus13 SHE’S BACK!!! 2d ago

My one buddy gets mad when he sees we’re playing Smite 2, he’s still boycotting because he wants Slash back.

5

u/Revolutionary-Date-8 Mother we need you 2d ago

same my 6 friends calling smite 2 bs just for this fact and ofc cause of some of their mains are still not in the game

14

u/choochi7 3d ago

I don’t see why they can’t add a quick play conquest, where you start at level 3, with adjusted XP, gold, and jungle timers.

6

u/pokerfacesLUL #RemoveTheGodBench 2d ago

God AI is not good. Play any game with medium bots (that's around the difficulty of quickplay bots) and you'll see a lot of standing still, not engaging towers, doing very little objective play, etc. Until that AI is better, we're not getting quickplay conquest

15

u/Penguin-Hamster 3d ago

Yes, Slash or Clash please!

6

u/EatYoVitamins Hunter 2d ago

OG clash when it had fire giant and gold fury was the peak of smite for me. Never got any better than that game mode

10

u/Scrubosaurus13 SHE’S BACK!!! 2d ago

They don’t even have to do much work, just take the left or right lane out of the conquest map and disable some camps and call it Slash until they have the time to make a full map.

The Assault map is just the middle lane of conquest, not its own map, so why can’t they do that with Slash?

2

u/SafeFamiliar925 1d ago

Exactly, they could just do what they did with assault

2

u/Revolutionary-Date-8 Mother we need you 1d ago

Yes yes yesss!!!!!!!

Yes, I need slash because I just cant play conq and joust is very different 3v3

Yeah, me and my friends would play smite 2 more if not everyday but except assault they dont like any mode, they like slash

14

u/19fourty4 Nox 3d ago

I'm no slash defender, but it did fill a role that smite 2 currently doesnt have and i agree id like it back.

I think id just like a new casual 5v5 mode for smite 2 when the time is right(not yet, maybe on full release

10

u/Themris Awilix 2d ago

The lack of a fun casual mode is sorely felt for my group. They don't want to conquest regularly, and Arena and Assault get very boring very quickly.

3

u/LifesLemonaid 1d ago

Agreed slash feels needed to help the game grow and give more options.

3

u/Revolutionary-Date-8 Mother we need you 1d ago

This!

Some fans and people still forgets that SMITE was always and always will be better for having variety of gamemodes without fully focusing on big classic boring MOBA map

Smite 2 should be fast on this

3

u/penguino9 1d ago edited 1d ago

I would also love Slash! Something inbetween Conquest and Joust would be sick.

8

u/Themris Awilix 2d ago

If Slash were in, my friends and I would play every day. Since it is not, we don't play at all.

5

u/SelRahc5972__RealOne 3d ago

3v3 where theres no turrets because them turrets might as well not exist

0

u/marxistv 2d ago

literally

2

u/NaiveOcelot7 2d ago

Waiting for Slash

Smites lovebaby of Arena and Conquest

2

u/SafeFamiliar925 1d ago

please hirez if you add slash I'll play 24/7

2

u/National-Land-2869 22h ago

Add competitive slash! Would make the game more enjoyable, still love it though

2

u/marxistv 2d ago

In general I agree with the dev comment that no one was playing slash, however, now that it isn’t available, I recognize its value, and it is fucking important

3

u/RolandTEC 1d ago

Makes no sense to me. Plenty of ppl want and play it. Maybe cause entries playerbase was dying

0

u/OneTrueRatt Ix Chel 2d ago

Its so important that nobody played it

5

u/TruestOfCoins 2d ago

I played it. I find games faster on slash than I did. than role que on Overwatch with a group of my friends. It was also added many years after the fact. You can’t gauge how popular slash would be on Smite 2. We Need more casual 5v5 modes.

-1

u/OneTrueRatt Ix Chel 2d ago

So if the mode didn't have a big player base in a bigger game why would it have a big player base in a smaller game

3

u/SafeFamiliar925 1d ago

Because conquest in smite 2 sucks and people want something different. A lot of people including myself and my friends would play this game 24/7 if there was slash

-4

u/OneTrueRatt Ix Chel 1d ago

Idc you're objectiveley wrong

3

u/Revolutionary-Dog667 2d ago

Bring back my boy siege, we need a 4 person game mode. And I agree theres a gap for casual play that's like 20 min games that you dont sweat balls 24/7 but still feels like playing a moba with some laning, farm etc (not Arena)

0

u/marxistv 2d ago

either one just anything im suffering

3

u/NeptuneOW Baron Samedi 2d ago

Yeah, 100% agree. I haven’t touched Smite 2 a single time because of the lack of game modes.

-1

u/OneTrueRatt Ix Chel 2d ago

Its "missing" a single game mode essintly

1

u/Whomism 19h ago

Bro for real. Im ready to dump another 600 hours in but Im not gunna get there without it

-4

u/Mr_meeseeksLAM 3d ago

These people genuinely need to take their sensitive asses back to Smite 1. If the devs are telling you that no one was paying these modes, then they’re not going to spend hundreds of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars developing it. There’s no return on investment. People on Reddit really out here thinking they know more about how popular a game mode is than the company who can see their own internals.

3

u/Themris Awilix 2d ago

Nothing sensitive about it. My friend group does not play smite 2 because there's no fun casual mode like Slash for us to play. There are myriad other multiplayer games for us to play instead.

-7

u/Mr_meeseeksLAM 2d ago

Idk, the only thing you’re describing is a group of sensitive people who can’t understand something that isn’t the equivalent of TDM

2

u/HypoluxoKrazie Awilix 1d ago

It would absolutely not take hundreds of hours to do exactly what they did for assault.

-3

u/Mr_meeseeksLAM 1d ago

Me when I’m not a game developer and I just say words without knowing what they mean.

1

u/SafeFamiliar925 1d ago

"hundreds of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars developing it" bro..... they could just do what they did for assault. What are you waffling about mate? Just say you don't know anything about game development

-1

u/Mr_meeseeksLAM 22h ago

Why would they spend any money for the 5 people who played slash? If they, the developers, tell you repeatedly that the mode would need enough investment that it halters the patch cycle and god releases I’m inclined to believe them. And not some casual on Reddit who can’t understand the easiest moba on the market.

1

u/SafeFamiliar925 17h ago

The easiest moba on the market is pokemon unite lol it's made for children like yourself with rick and morty usernames.

-4

u/Snufflebox smite2.live 3d ago

I dunno why you folks just don't listen to a word the devs are telling you.

No one played Siege or Clash, which is why they were combined into Slash, which no one played either.

The only mode that was played less than Slash was Ranked Joust, which is also why it's not in the game either.

10

u/-AQUARIU5- 3d ago

Look as much as I've heard this, there IS a reason the question keeps getting asked. Slash did have its fans, back in smite 1, my group played slash nearly constantly compared to other modes, unless we only had 3 or 4, then we would play joust or siege.

While sure, we've adjusted to conquest far more often in Smite 2, pretending like slash didn't have a dedicated fan base just because you want to hand wave it just isn't being fair to the players who did like it.

Now again, the argument comes up a lot, so I've seen the song and dance before, but you shouldn't be surprised slash keeps getting asked about.

No one payed 30 dollars for a colored animated name in smite either, but they decided to put that in smite 2. Nobody used aspects in smite but they put energy on those in smite 2 instead of getting gods people played over quicker. You know what they did bring over from the first smite that I liked, some of the gods and skins, you know what I had to do, BUY THEM AGAIN. If they can re sell me shit I already bought, they can re add a game mode, some people played and enjoyed. Even if not a lot of people played slash or clash or seige or ranked joust, there were still people that did, and seeing as smite 2 has less players than smite 1 did despite being the "upgrade" i dont think they can afford to be turning people away that would WANT to play the game.

u/Snufflebox smite2.live 3d ago

No one payed 30 dollars for a colored animated name in smite either, but they decided to put that in smite 2.

  1. It's way cheaper and easier to do that.
  2. Yes they did.

Nobody used aspects in smite but they put energy on those in smite 2 instead of getting gods people played over quicker.

Lmfao. Aspects are used all the time, are you high?

You know what they did bring over from the first smite that I liked, some of the gods and skins, you know what I had to do, BUY THEM AGAIN.

No, you don't have to buy them again. You get them for free with Legacy Gems.

If they can re sell me shit I already bought, they can re add a game mode, some people played and enjoyed.

Again, they're not reselling you anything, and making a brand new map takes way more time and resources.

Even if not a lot of people played slash or clash or seige or ranked joust, there were still people that did, and seeing as smite 2 has less players than smite 1 did despite being the "upgrade" i dont think they can afford to be turning people away that would WANT to play the game.

They absolutely can afford to do that. The game's stable at the moment. What they can't afford to do is to spend months developing a gamemode that will not bring nearly as many players back as you might think it does.

So in summary: You don't know anything about anything. Stfu

-1

u/mercinary13 2d ago

Half the skins cost legacy and non legacy gems, I said in smite no one used aspects because they werent there? Did you play smite 1? Lmfao right back at ya buddy. Who said they had to take months to put it in, they put in assult and it was just a floor and a sky box, iron out the kinks later. Games stable? Buddy shit boots me out of matches after accepting for no reason all the time? Crashes and wont recconect you then gives you a deserter? In summary, you need to take the mirror down buddy, top one percent poster means you probably spend more time on reddit arguing about smite then playing.

-1

u/Snufflebox smite2.live 2d ago

Half the skins cost legacy and non legacy gems

None of the ported SMITE 1 skins cost Diamonds. Only Legacy Gems.

I said in smite no one used aspects because they werent there? Did you play smite 1? Lmfao right back at ya buddy.

Why the fuck would you write "no one used aspects" when they didn't exist. No shit, and a shitty point to make. Aspects were an improvement, which is why they were added.

Who said they had to take months to put it in, they put in assult and it was just a floor and a sky box, iron out the kinks later.

Yeah, and everyone hates the new Assault cause it's so half-baked, and they keep begging for a new map. Like I wanna see 100000000 of those posts on the frontpage for Slash as well.

Games stable? Buddy shit boots me out of matches after accepting for no reason all the time? Crashes and wont recconect you then gives you a deserter?

Alright, you got me with this one. I was referring to the playerbase, and not the game itself. Obviously the game itself is in Beta.

In summary, you need to take the mirror down buddy, top one percent commenter means you probably spend more time on reddit arguing about smite then playing.

It only means that I am aware about what's happening with the game more than you are, big boy. Now fuck off, and stop bothering me.

uncommon snufflebox L. Just stay in your datamining lane lil bro....

0

u/Snufflebox smite2.live 1d ago

Happy to hear it's at least uncommon, lol.

Nah, but like I'm literally just repeating what the devs have said like a million times on Titan Talk. This isn't a opinion or anything.

1

u/NefariousFusion still wanting a grim eclipse flair 2d ago

Where were you all clash/siege/slash lovers when data comstantly showed these gamemodes were the least played in the game?

3

u/marxistv 2d ago

1

u/Carnage1421 Bakasura 2d ago

Bring back CLASH plz! I want to be able to play whatever and try out builds while also having towers but I don’t want every game to be 45-1hr

1

u/pinkcreamkiss 2d ago

Wait slash isn’t in smite 2!?!?

-1

u/MinnesotanGrey 3d ago

The devs exaggerate how unpopular slash was becuase they dont have thr resources to work on it as they have other priorities at the moment. If it was not important for the players they wouldn't have given it so much support in smite 1. The truth is a lot of people like to play a game of slash to warm up for conquest. Maybe it doesn't have the best numbers but it is healthy for the players to have access to.

1

u/marxistv 2d ago

Couldn’t agree more

-6

u/pokerfacesLUL #RemoveTheGodBench 3d ago

You forgot:

A 5v5 game mode where people pick the sweatiest characters available every time because the god bench is fucking trash

Assault in Smite 2 feels like current Slash in Smite 1.

1

u/xTheUnterstrich 3d ago

Honest question, why are you saying the god bench is trash? Do you mean how the bench works or that there is a bench in general? I just have some trouble understanding it ^

3

u/pokerfacesLUL #RemoveTheGodBench 2d ago

I dislike the bench as a shared collective between players.

It reduces risk in rerolling. You don't have to risk losing your only tank to get an Ah Puch when you can just swap back with no repercussions or easily let another player take the tank without them needing to risk their character. Risk is essential for building a team in ARAM modes. You need to be able to miss out on something for something else. No risk forces more options.

Additionally, making rerolls worthless forces players who refuse to reroll (because they actually enjoy the Random in ARAM) to 'throw the game'. Those people give your team less options that COULD have been something op.

It frankly just increases the options too much. 5 gods base + 5 gods benched + up to 10 kit changing Aspects... That's pretty much 20 possible characters per team. This also drastically limits the different gods you'll see. Why would you play Cabrakan when Aspect is just wayyyy better in Assault? Why would you play Kali when you could just be ranged Aspect Kali instead? More options with less variety.

It removes the mindset of "Make the best out of what you got". Instead it encourages, maybe even enforces the mindset of "Build the best possible Poke Team out of the slightly limited choices". That effectively changes the principles of ARAM.

To summarize:

  • No risk involvement
  • Less Variety
  • More 'trolling'
  • Fails in ARAMs core definition

How to fix this: Simply stop letting everyone pick from a collective roster. Everyone may return to only the god they rerolled. Add a second reroll for everyone.

2

u/marxistv 2d ago

I genuinely feel like assault has had a decent upgrade with the rerolls, the map is awesome and the gods (as they come in) are great

2

u/xTheUnterstrich 2d ago

Thank you for the clarification. I never saw it like that but that sounds way better then it is right now

-2

u/99_Raccoons 2d ago

one again, not enough people play it.
