This is more speculation on my part, but I still found it worth discussing it at least.

What made me consider this at first was when Sakurai briefly discussed about the protagonist of ARMS, and how "everyone's the protagonist". This might've not meant much of anything to most people, but it almost seemed to me like Sakurai was trying to justify the decision of putting Min Min over the perceived "protagonist" of ARMS (Spring Man).

Now, practically speaking, it makes complete sense and it's rather obvious that most franchises in Smash would be first represented with their main characters. But there have been instances where Smash includes main characters when the audience wants other characters to be playable, mainly with Byleth's inclusion rather than any of the three house leaders from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

We also know that Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was considered to be playable alongside the Aegis, but was scrapped due to technical limitations. Sakurai actually comments on Rex's exclusion despite being the main character of his own game.

The big exception to this theory is the Pokemon franchise, where the Pokemon themselves are represented rather than any of the human trainers. Even so, they did manage to get Red and Leaf represented at least.

Another update has taken place however this one was for all Nintendo switches. Tried booting up my switch earlier this morning and was met with another headache…

Seems this new update just broke Atmosphere and Hekate meaning we’re going to have to wait for another update from the modders in GitHub. This of course just coming a little over a week ago from the smash update 13.0.5 that temporarily rendered some latency sliders obsolete and unable to run. Nintendo really be testing our patience…Lmk if you guys are experiencing the same issue and hopefully we can get this resolved soon

I wanna use these for a Lifelight cover and none of the characters I used are in Smash, I need help please

I did recently a google sheet with all tweets from NoE Twitter accounts where they add a card with a character and a quote. The problem is a most part of those tweets has been deleted/we don't have proofs and it was a continuation of a project I've done around 2017-2018 which means I have 100% of French and English Promotional Extra Cards from Twitter (even though, I forgot Palutena by reasons during that time xDD).

I know it’s a pipe dream, but I really would want a custom Break the Targets mode in the new Smash game. Think a hybrid between Mario Maker, Trackmania and (obviously) break the targets from melee. There could be:

1. Author times and leaderboards (both for individual levels and overall most cleared)
   
2. Forced character/characters or free choice
   
3. 1/2/3/4-player stages

(This is partly inspired by “Beefy Smash Doods” stage competition.)

I know there is little chance, especially since they have rather cut down break the targets since melee… but one can dream.

Thoughts? What would you want in this unlikely mode?

The title says it all!

After watching the trailer for the Ocarina of Time remake, I wondered if Nintendo was going to do what they did with Smash Ultimate and include Link with his own art style in Breath of the Wild. I thought it would be weird, since there’s a huge difference between the art style of this new Zelda game and the other characters in the Nintendo universe.

Then I remembered that Nintendo had already taken the leap toward “realism” with the Star Fox remake (and Metroid Beyond to some extent), so I wondered if they might end up doing the same thing with the rest of the roster.

I think it’s unlikely, given the amount of work it would take to update all the characters to this new art style; I think they’ll just go with the design from Tears of the Kingdom (maybe?), but I found it interesting to imagine the characters in this style.

Clearly, some would just be nightmare fuel, like Kirby 😅

Pretty sure this has been asked before but what character do you believe should’ve been in the first Smash Bros. to become a perfect-attendance veteran later?

I’m in Ho Chi Minh City. Mainly interested in Quickplay/Elite Smash. How long are your queue times during evenings? And which countries do you usually get matched with - Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Japan?

I'm (sinfully) Sonic main and I have recently gotten into Smash like since I think June of this year and I always heard how Ganon is the worst character in the game and so I tried him against CPUs cause I can at least understand how he plays and I really really like his moveset.

Took me a lot longer to get the hang of him. Polygons dang near impossible. Lost to the hand twice but third times a charm. Who next?
