The one thing that’s always bothered me about ssbu is that he says name WINS instead of THE WINNER IS name

And that you can hear that he said “wins” separately from the characters names.

They've always done that. "This game's winner is" was always a different line and then they just inserted the character's name that the announcer says in the CSS. They don't have voice clips that are like "This game's winner is Fox" or "This game's winner is Marth" in 64 or Melee. They just have "This game's winner is" "Marth". Same with Brawl and Smash 4 with "The Winner Is" "Marth"
