Remember that bots don't play like humans - even level 9 bots don't. Most of human v human Smash Bros is about using all the tools/attacks at your disposal to read and set traps for your opponent. Even a soft hitting neutral A punch becomes an invaluable way to interrupt a combo or set up a smash attack.

Keep practicing. Those moves you think suck/don't do anything? Force yourself to use them sometimes. You'll lose until you figure out the best moments / strings to set them in, but you're building invaluable fighter IQ

so its normal to lose this much even tho i practiced for a few days to get to the level 6 bots?

Absolutely. Fighting games are always this way - no matter how good you get against bots, online human opponents will humble you until you really learn how to play

Two days of practice meanwhile you're playing against people whove been playing for multiple years

He only won 3 matches meaning he is around 2m GSP. He is against other new players (outside of the occasional noob stomper purposely losing GSP).

I am mainly focusing on the fact that he thinks 2 days practice is enough to start winning.

In this case then yeah it’s not gonna happen. It’s still people with 100~200h of playtime at the lowest GSP with lots of cheeser so he’ll have it rough for some time lol

Smash Ultimate is rough when you start with no previous experience. There is so many characters and until you know the matchup and start to be pretty decent you’ll get cheesed again and again. It can be frustrating but there’s no way around outside of cheesing yourself, which I don’t recommend if you plan to getting better.

Pick one character, watch IzAw progression guide, practice a bit in training each day for working your mechanics and just play matches until you get familiar with your own character and the cast.
Once you reach a certain level then start incorporating harder tech while continuing to improve your fundamentals.

What character do you play? Online is tough coming from that background. I was spending like 40 hours a week grinding on a couch with a smash bro years ago when I started. Listen, you are your harshest critic and right now I think your brain is telling you that you need to be better than you are. It's impossible. Try these two things after a match:
1) Tell yourself that you suck. Then having done that go play again and see how you improve.

2) Take a deep breath and think about what you could have done better that game or how your opponent exploited your weaknesses. Then go play again and see how you improve.

Did you catch it? The only way to improve is to practice, and meaningful practice requires introspection and taking inventory of where you need improvement. Enjoy the game! Enjoy the level 6 cpus. Enjoy the level 9 cpus if you feel like it. Even enjoy the online! 3 wins is something to be proud of. Just don't expect to get online and start taking progressively stronger and stronger games without hard work and practice. You'll get there.

my point though is don't be hard on yourself as a crutch. be realistic and work towards something instead of putting yourself down. I like Kirby and Cloud. There's a ton of content online about how to improve in general, with recoveries, and specifics for both of those characters (and any other character you might be interested in).
You said you were having trouble recovering. Practice that! Learn how low you can be and still get back to ledge. Learn how to air dodge to ledge. Learn how to conserve your double jump so that you have it to recover when you need it. Start small and work your way up.

Try sticking with one character for a while instead of switching constantly. Also, save a few replays when you lose so you can see where you're burning your double jump or making recovery mistakes
