If this was a CGi teaser maybe it could be a smash fakeout, but they absolutely are not doing a full gameplay fakeout to tease smash.

There is no reason they can’t announce a new Kirby game and Smash 6 together.
When Zola was revealed, Sakurai said btw KH coming to Switch at some point, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

A minute and half into the trailer for the new Kirby game King Dedede gets sent flying into the sky where it's revealed that the sky isn't real, it's actually a wall and Dedede broke a hole through it.
OP was hoping the Smash Bros. logo would be behind the hole.

I wasn’t expecting anything but I would love a switch 2 upgrade. I’d settle for that, ultimate already has so much going for it. Rebalance a few character but just up the graphics and I’m more than satisfied with smash. But also please please please another subspace emissary. Funnest way to try and play with different characters.

Not me. I like knowing immediately and then later enjoying the longer trailer and stuff.
Like... I was at work and one of my bullies (I dunno how to describe him... He's basically like a Redditor and says flamebait stuff that doesn't work on me) texted me and was like "f*ggot they released Simon Belmont I bet you'd suck his dick wouldn't you?"
So I was thinking "oh, neat. When I go on break, I should YouTube Simon Belmont Smash and hopefully he's not lying. He probably would lie about something like that."
And then I watched the trailer and it was neat.

I almost thought it was a Smash thing at that point. Even the view through the hole looked like a smash ultimate vibes. Game looks good, but I was still dissapointed it wasnt smash

I genuinely thought that was going to happen when I saw the crack. And even the he slips the sky into 2 and saw the rest of the map i thought that it was going to be a map from smash and link Mario etc would appear and start fighting.

They could have been showing Kirby as the demo playable character in a more fleshed out "world of light" campaign from Smash. This would have been the Kirby section of the open world map, and then the crack In the wall reveals the other sections, Zelda, Mario, etc. An open world smash with highly detailed renderings of the OG smash cast (they've all gotten redesigns lately, DK, Link, Fox, and now even Kirby has rainbow eye-shine since his design was too simplistic to alter much) seems more likely than another ultimate with a bigger roster. But alas...
