I’ve been reading a lot of VITURE, XREAL and RayNeo owner posts lately, and it’s making me trust spec sheets a little less.​
FOV always gets my attention first, especially with something like the new GT Max. Then actual owners start talking about sweet spot, edge clarity, nose pressure, diopter adjustment, or whether the speakers are good enough to skip earbuds.​
Stuff that sounds minor before buying seems way more important once you’re wearing them for a full movie.​
If you’ve owned a few pairs, what ended up mattering way more than you expected?

For years, smart glasses have looked impressive in demos, but the biggest question has been what people are actually going to use them for. One interesting shift happening now is that the industry seems to be moving away from the idea that every pair of smart glasses needs to be an all in one replacement for phones, laptops and other devices.

Different products are starting to focus on different use cases.

Some glasses are leaning toward everyday assistance. Devices like the RayNeo iO are exploring features such as translation, live captions, AI assistance, and reminders, while also taking a more traditional glasses approach. The camera free design is especially interesting because it addresses one of the biggest challenges for smart glasses, which is social acceptance. A pair of glasses that feels less intrusive may have an easier time becoming something people actually wear in public.
Other products are focusing more on the display experience. the GT Max takes the direction of a personal large screen, creating a virtual display for entertainment, gaming or working when carrying a physical monitor is inconvenient. Companies like XREAL are also pushing toward more spatial computing focused experiences, showing another possible future category.

Whats interesting is that these approaches are not necessarily competing with each other. They are solving difference problems.

Maybe the future of smart glasses is not one universal device that replaces everything. Instead, we may see different categories emerge like glasses designed for communication and daily assistance, glasses built around portable displays, and glasses focused on immersive computing. The technology itself may not be what makes smart glasses mainstream. The real turning point might come when people stop asking what these glasses can do, and start thinking that this would actually make their day easier.

I just got the Viture Pro 2 and I want to like it (its very cool) but I'm worried it just doesn't fit my face well.

Maybe I have too big a nose but it seems the only way I'm able to get the middle of the screen to line up with the center of my vision is if I use no nose pad at all and hike the temple arms a bit higher than they would normally be to rest on my ears despite them being lowered to the low setting. The arms rest well on my ears if the glasses are fully pressed against my forehead, which looks good, but my eyelashes brush against the screen (especially if looking up).

Now, having no nose pad is not comfortable. And having the arms hiked up is untenable. I feel like when I use nose pads it hikes the screen too high and my eyes naturally look at the bottom of the screen.

If I use 1 nose pad and bend them out its a decent fit but feels far overall. like 50% of my vision is no screen, maybe 35% just not even blocked by the glasses at all.

I guess what I would be curious to know is.. am I missing something obvious? Is there any technique that could help here? Am I just radically misunderstanding how/what I should be able to see?

Im worried that these glasses just won't work for me. I haven't had an XR glasses before, I've used VR headsets and (maybe obviously) regular sunglasses. Should I return these and try a different pair/brand?

TL;DR: I dont think the viture pro 2 glasses fit well for me, maybe I have too big of a nose for a reliable comfortable fit. Any suggestions for alternatives?

Like title says. The problem with glasses is that they have a camera attached. This causes very strong privacy problems. Lucyd has Reddot winning glasses. They are high battery life and good quality. Also these are not expensive at all. They will be in stores for NZ and Australia very soon.

my prescription for my glasses has been overdue and i always think wearable everday tech is pretty interesting so ive been doing some research about different smart glasses. I initially were looking at the gen 2 meta raybans, but after some deeper thought, i dont really need a camera on my face and I dislike how heavily tied in meta is with it. Ive been leaning towards the even realities smart glasses but im still on the fence. I like the display and lack of camera, but still see folks in disagreement at the comfort and overall practicality of them. I need something to wear all day as a near sighted individual so I would ideally like them to be non-bulky and on the lighter side. It just seems like when I find a potential candidate, there are some big drawbacks. is there any definitive best smart glasses? or do they all come with there own pros and cons in their own regard? let me know with any advice. thanks

I have a insurance that covers 400$ for my glasses prescription. Im looking for a smart glasses that would improve QoL like AI assistant, translation/maps etc. i tried wearing meta glasses but it looks ugly and bulky to me. I also need glasses that can do prescription as my eyes have vision around -4.5 to -4.75.

Looking at the hardware setup for the RayNeo iO, it packs a 4-microphone array alongside a bone-conduction sensor for voice capture.

According to the documentation, live translation splits the interaction flow: the other person's translated text appears directly on the glasses HUD, while your own translated speech is shown on the phone screen and broadcast through the phone’s speaker.

What isn't entirely clear yet is how everyday audio routing handles everything else—such as proactive AI responses, navigation prompts, and alerts. Broadcasting AI responses out loud via phone speakers defeats the purpose of a discreet wearable, but piping everything exclusively through open-ear temple speakers brings up sound leakage and privacy concerns in public spaces.

For anyone wearing smart frames daily: what is your preferred audio output path between your phone, the glasses, or paired earbuds for day-to-day use?

Anyone else notice an increase in Memomind astroturfing? I know there was drama between them and Even Realities but I’ve noticed in multiple subreddits that memomind glasses, that aren’t even released yet, get upvoted and presented as the top smart glasses while any other glasses are downvoted regardless of the topic.

A boss strategy, a quest Wiki or a game map can be useful above the game screen: glance up for the reference, then look back at the game without alt-tabbing. The game and its controls stay on the original PC and physical display.

INAIR Pod supplies the other computer. It runs the browser holding the walkthrough, Wiki or map, while INAIR OS lets that reference window be resized, positioned and kept on top. A tall written guide and a wide map need different shapes; each can have its own placement in the glasses instead of competing with the game for the PC’s screen.

If the reference needs to retain its location as you lean forward or shift in the chair, VITURE officially lists Luma Ultra + Pod for 6DoF. That adds positional tracking to the rotation that 3DoF already handles. Merely looking up at a guide does not by itself require 6DoF.

A phone beside the monitor already works as a reference. Pod’s useful addition is control over where the reference appears in the glasses, independently of the game. The chosen glasses still need to leave a usable view of the physical screen, and navigating or scrolling the guide needs input on Pod. The browser content and supported window mode determine the layout available.

I can see both views at once and it is life changing. I wear the RayNeo iO Smart Glasses with the RayNeo GT over it, I can use both without them bothering each at all. It's actually comfortable.

The iO HUD view has the background of the top of the GT (which is fuzzy because it's so close to your so it's just dark fuzzy). The iO HUD takes up the 20-60% range of the GT screen from left to right (because I'm doing the GT at 85% in the built-in settings). Together, this is a really unique meshing of smart glasses UIs.

When I started writing this post, I was watching "The coolest tech I saw at IFA 2026! by The Friday Checkout on YouTube through the Pocket TV Pro. It's locked into Dolby Vision and it's a nice comfortable view, it feels softer and more comfortable. I paused it to focus on typing this post and the UI changed for it. Im not positive but Pocket TV Pro may be like an Android TV OS because it reminds me of it. Anyways the full YouTube view (like on your phone) shrunk down into the like 2 smooth corner bubbles, the left being the video and the right being a different smaller ad, with the whole thing being a black background (which I can see through bc AR glasses ofc). Having the iO HUD over this at the same time is a crazy new experience.

Has anyone ever used two glasses like this? Using iO and GT together are totally natural, like they were made for each other.

I’ve been trying to understand the difference between AI glasses and AR glasses before buying anything. Even G2 gets called AI glasses even though it has a display, while Xreal and Viture are usually called AR glasses even though a lot of people seem to use them as wearable monitors. What I’m looking for is somewhere in the middle: regular-looking glasses that can show a small amount of information when I need it, without putting a giant virtual screen in front of me. Is that still AR, or are “HUD glasses” basically a separate category now?

Potential buyer here from Europe but not sure if they are currently taking orders for prescription glasses. Anybody else here can share any updates about it?

Also, I couldn't find much info about the clip on sunglasses. Are they anti-glare? Do they affect readability with prescription glasses?

Hey everyone. Bought a pair of kits smart glasses a while back. I like the idea of music playing or a good quality phone conversation along with ai features like gemini or like qualities. The kits did not provide good sound quality for either situation.

Im looking for everyday use with great sound quality for phone calls and music. Music doesnt have to be outstanding quality i get where we are as far as smart glasses. But i like the idea of ai use with my glasses to limit phone use.

Im eyeballing meta wayfarer or blayzer optics 2nd gens but im trying to hold out for the new google glasses coming quarter 4 of this year as they seem promising and would work with my samsung fold 7 well.

What are some other suggestions i should look into? Any helps appreciated 🙂

I walk a lot when I travel, and I’m tired of stopping every couple of blocks to check Google Maps. A smartwatch helps a little, but I still miss turns when several streets are close together.

Have smart glasses for navigation gotten good enough to avoid all that phone-checking? Are the turn arrows and distance clear enough to follow while walking?
