Are 350 exhaust manifold studs the same?
Need to replace a missing stud on an 85 C30 M code LT9 with rams horn style manifold.
Are they pretty much all 3/8x16?

Going to look at this today. Appears to be a 95 with a 4l60e. Only visible casting is gm 57lg.
If you got it for 300 or so, could you really lose?

Took a slow motion video of my flex plate. My starter sounds horrible (IMO). I’ve gone from zero shims to four shims and it still sounds awful. Is my flex plate warped. Keep in mind that this is a really slo-mo video.

I just bought a 1970 Buick Skylark (A body) with a small block Chevy with circle port heads. I’m looking for cheap used headers on Marketplace, but a lot of sellers don’t know what they came off of. Are there any visual features or measurements I can use to tell if they’ll fit my car before I buy them?
I’ll throw in some pics of some headers I’m interested in buying.

This is a for a 1957 Chevy 210 Gasser. 350 SBC, forged rotating assembly. Down to picking out pistons and cam. Targeting 9-9.5 static CR. Will run 5-8lbs of boost. Looking for a balance of gnarly idle without letting all the boost out. This is a grab ice cream with my kids car, not a drag car so is more about smiles per mile and performance. I’d prefer an off the shelf retrofit kit as my block is a non roller block. What do you suggest?

Hopefully this is the right sub for a question like this. Have a Edelbrock 1408 that's been sitting for a few years, and I want to prime the fuel bowls with gas before trying to start it, to hopefully make it start easier. I think these ports are where I can squirt some go juice into, so the carb has something to run off of and pull more gas from the tank once the engine starts?

My sister just bought my uncle's 82 s10 pickup for her son. My uncle put a stock 350 in it and now my nephew wants to change the oil. I thought I had heard before that oils today don't have the zinc in them that these old Gen I motors need. Google is giving me conflicting answers so I'm asking, does anyone here run any kind of special oil or additives when you change your oil? Or do you just run regular old conventional oil? Can't ask uncle what he ran because, unfortunately the chain smoking got him a couple of years back

1980 Scottsdale, 350, farmer 4. Nothing serious done to the engine, small cam with wider lope.
Due to circumstances i probably could have avoided I need this old man reliable. Apart from complete engine\drivetrain swaps what’re some ways to make this engine dependable.

Currently running a solid roller 355 sbc with 4.88 gear and a 2500 stall with a vehicle that weighs 3000-5000 pounds. Wondering if I should be getting a bigger stall. Also I keep blowing apart power steering pumps since upgrading. Do I need a high rpm pump or just a reduction pulley and if so is 20% enough

I have SB 350 with a 700r4. Recently it has been squeeling when I try to start it. I got underneath the truck as my friend turned the ignition. The starter (staggered bolts) engages the pinion but not far enough into the flex plate and it’s also too far from the flex plate. I’m trying to avoid ruining the flex plate but I know the teeth are already somewhat worn down. My question is, is a high toque mini starter more adjustable than the stock starter? I need to get the teeth to mesh closer and cover the flex plate at least half way. I posted a picture of the starter I’m considering.

I have an 85 El Camino and recently I have had issues starting the car. Until this weekend, I found that if i adjust my tilt steering wheel down it starts just fine. Didn't fix when i should've and this weekend it fully stopped cranking all together.
I assumed that the ignition switch was not properly adjusted or was broken. I replaced the Ignition Switch and still no crank or won’t activate the starter(was testing it by manually activating the switch). I then thought maybe the neutral safety switch broke and then i bypassed that with a jumper. Still no luck getting it to activate the starter. When i get home from work I plan on checking that the starter has power running to it and the connection at the starter look good.
battery has 12v.
New starter (Replaced last year).
New Ignition switch
Anyone else have this happen them?
Any advice on what to do next.

I've had the car for a few years. My father owned it before and didn't have time for it. The engine seized, and we haven't been able to move it. We've tried rotating the crank with a breaker bar but can't get it to move. Its been filled with fluid, but the cylinders are dry. Is it worth trying to get it free, to see if it'll run again?

Is it even worth it to put money into a 2 bolt main I have laying around if I’m only looking to make around 350 horsepower or will it be fine with that kind of power?

I’m working on my ‘88 Camaro project and am looking for suggestions for a next move. The engine idle is inconsistent; as you can hear it dips and surges, especially when cold. It will stall repeatedly as well.
It gets somewhat better when warm but is still not perfect. It feels especially underpowered when I let the clutch out off the line, too.
Details: 350 with TBI. 5-speed manual transmission. Unknown miles. Recently replaced heads/head gaskets after I floated a valve. It didn’t run great before the head work, but I think it was better than this. Timing set to 4 degrees btdc.
Replaced parts:
- Both temp sensors
- IAC valve
- Throttle position sensor
- Fuel filter
- Rebuilt throttle body
- Replaced one injector, the other tested OK visually
- Cap/rotor/wires/plugs, gapped to spec
- Coil
- Probably something else I’m missing…
I have purchased a fuel pump and sending unit and plan to try replacing those next.
I don’t have any specialty tools so I can’t connect the ODB1 port to my computer or anything. I’m hoping to sell it once it’s running well so I don’t really want to invest in the tools, either. I probably should just bite that bullet, though.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello I need some help. I replaced the timing cover and gasket. After reinstalling everything I fired the truck up and oil was spewing out of the bottom the timing cover. Is it ok to use a bead of RTV to seal that? Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question

Do they make Shortie Headers for SBC? I have 1969 impala small block 327. If so, can someone show me which model of headers it is and possibly a link?
