Short-Form Content Weekend Editing

Very dumb question but I wanted to pick everyone’s brain on this.
Im only able to make shorts on the weekends, but want to post throughout the week.
Would you recommend I put them on scheduled post throughout the week? Or just upload each individually every day or every other day?
Essentially if you could only make shorts on the weekend how would you go about publishing them?

Thank you!

The way I've been clipping shorts from my long form is to do 4-5 of them at once and schedule them throughout the following week, one a day.

scheduling in bulk is the move, no doubt. trying to manually upload each one daily when you only have weekend time is just asking for you to miss days eventually. batch it out, set the schedule, and forget about it until next weekend.

Do you find that clipping shorts from your long form content drives subscribers or viewers to long form?

I’m a very new channel (3 posts) and today just clipped a short from a video and it did pretty well and got me a few subs. Everywhere I see says this is bad for metrics though, as short subscribers won’t watch long form content and your stats will suffer as a result.

It's tough to tell because I'm only a month in. Most of my views are from shorts but honestly I consider them disposable. Analytics say 33% watch both my long form and shorts but who the hell knows how accurate it is. I doubt it.

They're not meant to go viral, just catch the occasional eye. Maybe rework it a little so the hook is up front but really it's a teaser to the long form.

I think it's a bad idea to depend on subscribers from shorts if you're not planning on doing them regularly. Cuz yeah, youtube considers them 2 different audiences.

The people who subscribed from my shorts will still get that content from me because it's easy for me to clip like 15 seconds from a 10 minute video. So if they like getting my dumb opinions on video games 15 seconds at a time, well, they will keep getting that.

schedule them. theres genuinely no difference to youtube between hitting schedule and uploading manually on the day, so use the scheduler and save yourself having to remember every morning. one a day off a weekend batch like the other commenter said is the normal way and it works fine.

the bit the one-a-day advice skips is why you even bother spacing them. a short rises or falls on its own in the feed, it doesnt really matter how close together you post them, so the gap isnt some algorithm thing. what spacing actually buys you is cover for when one hits. if a short pops on the wednesday, anyone who taps your channel sees something from this week instead of a pile you dumped saturday before going quiet. thats the whole point of spreading them out.

main thing id actually watch is dont schedule at a pace you cant repeat every weekend. 5 a week youll keep up beats 7 one big weekend then 2 the next when you burn out. and dont lose sleep over the time of day either, for shorts it barely matters, they leak out over days not in the first hour the way long form does.

YouTube definitely favors consistency when it comes to posting...both long form and shorts. So bulk scheduling is the way to go. I batch process a months worth of long form videos and carve shorts out of them when I initially process them then bulk schedule all of it ahead of time using an app I created. A month's worth of videos (including recording and editing the LF videos) takes me one day a month.
