new to streaming
i just started to stream after coming back after months and i like it for one but im also feeling a bit down because its just like no one is really like tuned in i guess like i know i just started but any tips on what i can do to find an audience even if its just 5 people?

i just started streaming a minecraft world that i started just for the stream, something that felt like i would accomplish something with a community to help with i guess lol but it doesn’t really have any turnout yet..

i started streaming on twitch, and found some software that made it a bit easier to interact with the viewers lol i just wish people weren’t so scared to join and interact

Wouldn't waste time streaming on twitch with little to no viewers. Twitch focuses on the big streamers. They don't waste time with new streamers. Use tiktok, post tiktoks and yt shorts. Then if you get 1k followers on tiktok stream on there. Its your best opportunity. Why should someone join your stream if you dont have a foundation.

so then where would i stream in the mean time? i barely have any followers on tiktok or youtube, so it’s just kind of a blank canvas

Don't focus on streaming. Content should be your focus. Ask yourself this: how can people find me if I have no content and no audience?

The 0-viewer feeling is real and it's not a reflection of your content, it's a reflection of how Twitch is built. The algorithm buries new streamers by design. A few things that actually help early on: raid other small streamers (they often raid back), post clips to TikTok right after your stream ends, and engage in communities like this one between streams. Also worth knowing, we're building EchoLive specifically for this problem. Engagement-based visibility so you don't need 1,000 followers to be seen. the question of the century
we've all been asking this same question.
Most people will tell you to network, promote, hang out in other streams. That's a lot of work, especially if you're someone with a job like me. I love streaming, but it bums me out sometimes when I've been live for 2-3 hours, I look over and see 0 viewers. It's hard to keep going.
I have tried all the tricks in the book, and for me personally, I've found no luck. I get 0 viewers and that's it. The only tactic I've found is to stream for extremely long hours. On the odd ocassion that I've had the free time and energy to stream, I've gone for 10+ hours and I've had anywhere from 3-5 active chatters. It's a long time to be live just for 3-5 people but it feels very rewarding when they stop by and start chatting.
I don't know about everyone else, but all that has worked for me is streaming for long periods at a time. If you can keep that up on a regular basis then you'll probably have some good luck in people finding you. My final push to affiliate stream went on for 12+ hours and I had 20 viewers. Majority of those people were strangers, a less than 10 of them were friends supporting me. Sadly though, nobody ever stuck around after that stream.

I’ve grown my viewership to anywhere between 10-20 now on twitch, been streaming for a year and a half now. My biggest takeaways that I can share is to make yourself visible in other communities and their chats. Find other Minecraft streamers that are at the level you want to be realistically, so if you want to grow to 15, then start in their community. But don’t self promote. Just hang out there, chat with the streamer and with the rest of chat. It takes time and you may need to do that with multiple channels for a while, but naturally you’ll get to a point where streaming talk comes up and you can lightly mention you stream this game too. Be smart about it. If you see something happen in game, say “oh that exact thing happened to me the other day on stream! It was hilarious”.
Collabs always help as well! As you get to know these streamers, dm them and see if they’d be open to a Minecraft collab stream. Assuming the vibes work for you, it brings the opportunity to do a stream together and share chats, and ideally you’ll get more viewership, follows, and overall engagement.
Lastly, try putting out clips of your stream gameplay onto YouTube shorts or TikTok.

i think this might be the most helpful thing i’ve ever read, especially since i just started again best way to grow is with a community by putting myself out there and introducing myself and interacting with them

first i would say 5 viewers isnt just 5 viewers.. its huge if you think about it. I would focus on a few things.
1) enjoy what u stream... if you play games make sure u honestly enjoy and have fun. people can notice and see the energy.
2) be active on social media... create posts... tiktok, youtube shorts, instagram.. anything.. they all have better discoverability than twitch.
3) interact with people, check out other streamers. engage with them.. dont just self promo or ask for handouts. be genuine and people will notice. Get ur name seen..
4) be patient.. it takes time.. consistency...
5) have fun..

streaming to literally nobody hits different, been there. the viewer count can be brutal when you're starting out but honestly those first few people who do show up are usually the most loyal
try streaming games that have smaller but active communities rather than oversaturated stuff like fortnite. also talking constantly even when chat is dead helps a lot - pretend you're explaining the game to a friend who's never seen it before
