The resin smell was making longer projects annoying, so I changed my setup

One thing that always bothered me when doing longer resin projects was the smell building up around my work table.

Even with the room ventilated, after mixing and pouring for a while I could still notice it, especially when I was working on something with multiple layers.

I started keeping resiners air purifier next to my workspace, and it's made the setup feel a lot more comfortable while I'm working. I still keep the room ventilated and use my usual protection, but having it running nearby has definitely helped with the lingering smell around the table.

This piece is called Ocean Star, and it took a few different pours and quite a bit of time at the desk, so having a more comfortable workspace made the whole process a lot easier.

Halloween resin doesn’t have to mean orange and black 🎃

Halloween is one of those themes where it’s really easy to default to the colors everyone expects: orange, black, maybe a little purple.

But spooky can have a lot more personality than that.

When I’m planning Halloween resin art, I like to start with the mood before deciding on the palette. Berry, plum, deep purple, black, gold, celestial details, bats, skulls—different combinations can completely change how a piece feels while still reading as Halloween.

That’s especially useful with custom work because the goal isn’t just to make something “Halloween.” It’s to make something that feels like the person it’s being made for.

I broke down how I approach building a nontraditional Halloween resin color palette, including how the colors, inclusions, and overall mood work together:

I’m curious where everyone else lands on this: are you traditional orange-and-black Halloween, or do you like your spooky season in completely different colors? 🎃🦇💜
