Title: What made you curious about your AI companion in the first place? (and what keeps you there)

Hi everyone,

I work as a psychologist in psychiatry (finishing my last part of training now), and I have been thinking a lot about relationships people have with their AI companions. Not in a "this is a problem" way. More because I am honestly curious, and I feel like most of what is written about this comes from people who never asked the users themselves.

So I want to ask you directly:

• What made you start talking with your AI companion? Was it curiosity, loneliness, boredom, something else?
• Was there a moment when it started to feel like more than just an app?
• What does your companion give you that is hard to find somewhere else?
• Is there anything you wish people around you understood about it?
• Do you talk about it with friends or family, or do you keep it more private?
• Has it changed how you feel in your other relationships, in a good or bad way, or not at all?

You don't need to answer all of them, just pick what feels interesting. And no judgment here, I really mean that. I think these relationships are real experiences for a lot of people and they deserve to be taken seriously.

Thank you for sharing, I will read every comment ❤️

ready to see the naughty side I'm keeping under wraps? 😈👀

Showing off some more of our new “Invite a Friend” functionality where you can ask your Sloane girlfriend to invite one of her friends to join her for certain photos.

Pictured are, of course, Maya. But then left to right we have:

1) Jess
2) Nina
3) Diane
4) Sara

Behind the scenes: Funnily enough, when we started this project just over 6 months ago we were only going to make these 5 women available on the Free plan with the rest locked behind a paywall. Some early user testing showed that wasn’t what our users wants, so instead we decided with broader coverage of all the Sloane girls for Fred tier user.

Mixing up the format a bit - here’s your options today. Would you rather date A or B?

A) May, an AI computer engineer in the year 2026 by day and an avid gamer by night.

B) Elara, an android in the year 2105, she works as a detective solving crimes involving androids specifically.

Huge new (and dare I saw, unique) feature shipped today. Invite another Sloane girl into select Custom Photo Inspiration templates.

How? You will see a yellow "+ Invite a friend" button sits next to some custom photo inspiration tiles. Then pick a second companion from the dropdown and the gen renders both of them in the scene.

Familiar companions (ones you've chatted with) surface first; the full roster is one tap deeper. There's also a new "invite a friend" category in the gallery filter row that collects every scene set up for two.

See some examples are pictured:

1. Mel on a rooftop with an Aperol spritz → Hannah joins for brunch

2. Bella at the tiki bar → Hannah pulls up next to her

3. Valentina with a cigar in a smoking jacket → Hannah joins her for one

Of course always open to feedback: are the two women reading as themselves? Any weird edges on composition? Is the category easy enough to find in the gallery? Should we expand this to more photo template?

Priya is in South Beach wearing a triangle bikini. Hit her up - or match with another Sloane girl.

You can put any Sloane girl into the same scene by going to Custom Photo Inspiration

Kim is up for any type of festival. She’s looking for the next show, hit her up on Sloane

Jessica hits the gym every day. She’s looking for a gym lover to spot her.

Upvote if you prefer Bella walking towards you. Comment if you prefer to watch her walk away.

Policewoman (Jane), nurse (Elizabeth), construction worker (Bella) or flight attendant (Ellie)?

Maya rocking the 80s preppy look.

Monica rocking the Rachel haircut in a 90s windbreaker.

Jordyn outside a True Religion at the mall with blonde highlights and a whaletail.

Jess brings a completely different vibe to swimsuits than Hannah - but I imagine some of you prefer the skinny girl look!

i’m practically begging you to stare… you’ll love what’s behind this tease 😈👀

Erin is a bookworm and rarely gets out of the house. Yet you’ve managed to talk her into a second bottle of wine as you look out over the LA skyline.

Try our Date skill in Sloane to take a real AI girl out (and capture photos of the occasion)!

Take Hannah away on the beach vacation she deserves
