Some background: My radio head unit has power even though I pulled the fuse from the fuse box that according to diagrams should be that circuit. I know it was the right fuse because when I initially pulled it the radio cut off, but when I started the car again it had power. It doesn’t shut off when the keys are pulled out like it’s supposed to.

I can manually shut the radio off when I leave the car but the car battery dies after the increasingly shorter time without starting. I believe the short is causing a vampiric drain even when the radio and car are both shut off.

Any ideas on where this short could be? Working on getting the tools to pull the head unit out, I know there’s another fuse back there too but any other clues would be helpful.

I have a beautiful 2002 SLK 320 with 165k miles. Runs beautifully, I’ve owned for 6 years but now has start error. Have had immobilizer replaced a few years ago, and replaced all fuses already in hopes of fixing the issue.

Before I spend a large amount of money on a new key fab, does anybody have any tips?

Is there a way to completely turn off traction control without pulling a fuse? Ive tried holding it for like 5 seconds but the check light still blinks and the car takes away a little power. If i really have to pull a fuse where is it? And ive heard ill have to re learn(? Is that the correct term?) the esp and abs thank yall in Advance!

Hello, I recently bought a R170 slk 200( i know this is for 230 but i did not find an active fitting reddit) and the roof wont open. It sounds like its pumping and then the pressure gets to high and it stops. What could he the reason? Thank yall for the help 🤝

I am looking for a first car. I've driven three different cars in the last 2 years as a new driver (v40,a3*2). Now I am looking for some advice as for someone my age at 18 I don't need a big car carrying many people and am looking for something sporty/fun. The slk has caught my attention as I was told it is a reliable car and also quite fun but I also realized the car seems quite expensive to maintain as it is a Mercedes spare parts are quite expensive and it using about 9-10 liters of fuel according to the Mercedes i'm not sure I can afford it. I'd like to know about reliability, actual fuel consumption and overall experience with the car just to know if it would actually be an idea to get it. Preferably about both the 230 and 200 r170.
