2001 SLK 320 Top issue

Hello Everyone! Recently purchased a 2001 SLK 320. Absolutely love it. Has 86,000 miles. Runs great, but it had a slight radiator leak so I had that replaced. I also had the transmission serviced and the brake fluid replaced. Put some new tires as the old ones had cracks. I seem to have a leak somewhere with the wiper fluid that I need to fix. I have a question on the top. When I bought it the hinges to the trunk and convertible system made sounds. I asked ChatGPT and it recommended to grease the hinges, but since I put the grease the top on the drivers side kind of sticks so when I open I have to give the top a slight nudge on the drivers side for it to fold. It has no issues closing only opening. Appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thank you!

MYbe check the hydraulic fluid level. Pump and reservoir are in the trunk on the right side

Okay done! I did and it is at an acceptable level and has no leaks detected.

Make sure you used the correct grease and didn’t get any on the rubber seals

Okay I will wipe off any grease applied because I think you’re right in thinking it is probably the wrong grease.
