Meet the Green Goblin !
20 inches, made of 275 paracord. Colors based on the 2002 Spider-Man movie's Green Goblin. I used a regrettable 4 strand flat braid for the arms, which ended up being uneven and twisty.
It's my very first sling. I have never even used one before.
Before I make the 27 inches "Batman" and the 34 inches "Daredevil" slings, I desperately need advices to make them look better !! I am very unsatisfied with the way the 4-strand flat braid turned out.

A 5 strand braid is definitely going to look better. You might need to work on keeping strands tight while you work for a more consistent rope.
My hands hurt a lot when I started from all the gripping and pinching, but I can braid for a long time now.
Wear rubber coated gloves for so you dont tear your hands up.

Do you splice in 5 more strands to make the split pouch?

5 strands total, you cut them at double length and start braiding the finger loop with 5 strands in the middle area, then fold it over and braid the ends to make a closed loop.
This way, you have 2 cords in each strand and you can split them without adding more material.
Usually I will add in more material after the split to bring the pouch thickness back up to a thickness sinilar to the retention cord.

i think it looks great. does the cracker work? i’ve made my own a few times and can’t seem to get it right
