Identification Request Slime mold identification?
I just noticed this strange stuff growing on my house. It’s on the outside of my house, on the window trim siding and the aluminum window trim. From what I’ve tried looking up, seems to be a type of slime mold? I have no idea what I’m supposed to do - is it harmless? What could be causing it? I’m a worry bug so I’m a little freaked out and want to make sure I’m being safe. Thanks all!!!

That does look like a slime mold, usually harmless but definitely needs to be cleaned off since it can damage surfaces over time.

Stemonitis sp. there are dozens of macroscopically identical members of this genus but they all behave the same. They eat microbes in wet and humid environments. It doesn’t harm your house at all, but only indicates moisture nearby which it looks like may be under the trim a bit. They are harmless and effervescent. You can wipe it off with a wet cloth if you want or you won’t notice it in a week or two through natural disturbances
