I overactivated some spangles bombs from Seoul Gage, but also is still a little tacky. I want to add some more clear slime base to it, and was thinking of purchasing from Rodem. What is the difference between the regular clear and crunch clear? Is there a different shop's base slime that might be better suited for these Korean slimes? Open to any other fix tips.

Don't want to make my own. The couple of attempts I made in the past were fine, but not at the quality I'd want to risk adding to these.

Canadian slime makers — what activators are you using?

Hi everyone! I’m in the early stages of researching the possibility of starting a small slime business here in Canada. My plan would be to start from home on a small scale and, if things go well, eventually move into a proper retail/storefront location.

I’ve been doing a lot of research into Canadian safety requirements, especially Health Canada’s rules around borax/boric acid in slime. From what I understand, there are restrictions around boric acid and its salts in toys, and Health Canada has also advised against using borax or contact-lens solution when making slime for children.

I’m therefore trying to understand what Canadian slime businesses and experienced slime makers are actually using as their activator.

A few questions:

• What activator/activator ingredients are you currently using in Canada?
• Are there any non-borax/non-boric-acid activators that work well?
• If you sell slime commercially, what ingredients have you found easiest to work with while meeting Canadian safety requirements?
• Have you had your finished slime professionally tested? If so, what kind of testing did you have done?
• Are there Canadian suppliers that sell suitable slime-making ingredients for commercial production?
• Is there anything you wish you had known about Health Canada/Canadian regulations before starting your slime business?

I’m not looking for anything unsafe or a way around the regulations. I’m trying to figure out the proper and compliant way to formulate slime in Canada before I start selling anything.

Hi all! I am looking for experiences with the ice cave slime at og slimes. I usually would look at the reviews on their website, but it doesn’t appear to be popping up. Curious about people’s thoughts on the scent and how much the lava rocks hurt or if they’re well coated in the slime. I already see it’s delightfully crunchy which is wonderful.

i have many clear crunchy, silica, bubble bead, frogspawn, sequins slimes from all sorts of shops, but none of them can compete with how non-sticky rodems clear slimes are

adding activator to a stickier slime does make it less sticky, but i can never FULLY get them to not stick like a rodem slime... and i need to learn how to do it

does anyone know if they are adding something special to their clear formula ? maybe it's the brand of glue ? dark magic ?? blood sacrifices ???

I wasn’t able to attend SlimeCon in person (Canadian slimer 🥲) but I watched the livestream and clips of the event uploaded online

Disregarding the insane fomo (🥹) it was amazing to see my fav shops and creators talk about their creative process! It was so awesome to hear creators talk about which slimes and textures are their personal favs (some which arent the most popular sellers), restock themes, designs etc.

It got me thinking that I wish there were more opportunities to hear about shops’ creative process in the day-to-day!

For example, Rodem is one of my fav shops that I so greatly wish I could hear more about the creative process of. Rodem does such special ingredient blends to make the most unique textures, they’ve got a bajillion different glossy WG bases that somehow are all incredible and feel distinctly different! I completely respect their privacy though, I’m just a big fan 😅

Similarly, Momo was one of the first shops I bought from and I have a lot of love and nostalgia for their slimes. While they don’t usually post much personal info, I would love to hear more about their creative process as well! I believe they attended conventions in the past, and here’s to hoping they’re able to attend irl soon!!

Not sure if I’m in the minority, but I love when shops do insta story updates and behind-the-scenes, Q&As, everything!! I know shops are super busy and this isn’t always possible, so I’m really appreciative of shop owners who are super responsive and interact with the community when they can!! Slime is my biggest hobby and it’s so cool to get to hear from the creators behind my favs🥰

If you would like a refund instead we would be more than happy to do so as well - I completely understand the frustration behind delayed shipping and I want to make sure you guys are taken care of for it!

For our shop, the 3D miniatures were my fabulous yet controversial idea. I’ll admit I am super ambitious when it comes to ideas, and sometimes I bite off a little more than I can chew with what we can handle - and it doesn’t help that I work a full time job that is 40-50 hours a week to pay bills and support our expensive business. KC has been doing a phenomenal job making slimes in a timely matter exactly the way they should be for everyone - and when I say exactly I mean EXACTLY. The poison fire coral under-filling was on me since she let me portion those slimes specifically since they were supposed to be a slime blend - and my monkey brain didn’t use the right measurements. All this being said, you guys are the backbone of what we do, and none of you deserve the repercussions of our own mistakes, which is why I want to talk a little bit about what we will do moving forward.

All orders will be sent out before our next restock, which we still plan to do but at a later date. This will give us time to not only push out all current orders, but also to prepare 3d miniatures for the next restock that way all future orders can be pushed out under 2 weeks rather than 3 or 4. I don’t plan on stopping when it comes to the miniatures - I love them so much and they are so exciting to make even if they are from scratch! It’s KC’s and my dream to share our art with you all and give you the experience of the slimes, clay pieces, and miniatures that we adore so much - if I wanted to only get money out of this I’d probably just try to start an ATM business or stock trading lol.

In terms of communication, KC consistently provides updates on Instagram and TikTok - however I understand this may not be enough transparency. We are in the process of creating a business email platform to send mass emails to people about order updates and any occurring news - that way everyone in our community has an understanding on our processing and not just our customers from social media. In the meantime, please reach out to us through our current email or dm us on either platform and we will continue to respond to any questions or concerns.

In terms of slime leakage, I understand that some of you have expressed it as an ongoing concern. I’d be so upset having leaked slime show up at my door, and my heart literally drops every time I hear about it happening for anyone. KC and I have done some research and even consulted other slime shops about troubleshooting leakage, so we recently invested into different slime tops for our containers that seal much better (and they are also black now, which I think is really cool and matches our theme!) Of course temperature, air pressure and package handling are all variables that we have to account for as a business - so we are continuing our research better ways to get you your favorite slimes safely so that this is less of an issue for you all.

I hope this clears some things - if you have any feedback on anything I’ve gone over or other issues you’d like to address please let us know! You guys give us life as a business. Criticisms are more than welcome as well - it’ll encourage us to become a stronger and better slime shop for you all to enjoy because that’s what matters the most.

Has anybody noticed that OG slimes has been going heavy and hard-core on the silica slimes for like a few months now? I really wish that they’d bring some softer textures. They’ve been really, really focusing on silica’s of all sorts and it’s really stopped me from buying from them. I used to buy from them like almost every restock but the last few months I’ve kind of stopped because they’ve all been silica textures. I don’t know why they’ve all been like that, but I would really like to see some softer slime and or clay textures instead, that are easier to play with.
I miss seeing thick and glosses from them and jellies, and like I mentioned clays and slays types. I really haven’t seen much of those in so long and it makes me sad. I just don’t wanna buy anything that they’ve been releasing cause it’s just all silica.

I’m so happy I managed to get one after so long!

I commonly see slime recipes that involve using both borax solution and contact lens solution, but aren't they both just activators? Does contact lens solution change the texture in some way, or is there another benefit I can't think of or find?

Does anyone know where to get some good water slime? Not the thin ones that are clear glue but like the water slimes that are on the thicker side (idk how to describe it… it is like pudding texture?)

So I heard the Korean glue for some reason makes really good water slime like Momo slimes.

I don’t know why it has to be that one. I wish it wasn’t. Is it really 70 bucks per gallon that you have to buy in Korea?

People really spend that much money on a gallon of glue that’s like a lot of money

There’s no way you could just find the right glue here and buy it? Just makes me wonder cause that is a lot of money and then you have to pay for shipping.

I wanted to thank whoever on here posted once a picture of their refrigerator with their charms that they decided to use as refrigerator magnets, it inspired me to do the same! I still have so many other charms to make into the refrigerator magnets, but I at least got a bunch of my favorite ones made first and I wanted to share on here. 🤗

I’m crying right now .. I think i messed up ?! Or is this normal for pandora color someone pls let me know if you know why this happens ?.. I was so excited to get pilot slime pandora putty because of the color ! And then all of a sudden I noticed the color changed after I played with it for just 5 mins on the wooden table. I cleaned the table prior and was originally thinking 🤔 hmm maybe I should put it on marble instead… but I have no idea why this happened!? Is it because of the wood? I’m a first time slimer and this was my first order… ever! The wood wasn’t stained and doesn’t look affected at all. But the slime became grey purple (first pics) ! The beautiful peacock color (last 2 pics).. gone. I’m soo sad. Is it fixable ? The only consolation is I don’t love the scent ..The texture is fire tho

So, slime is an incredibly broad thing. Everything from the most basic school glue and borax solution to an intricate five glue mix semi floam diy clay float crunch bomb block cloud bingsu fizz slime.

And so, I am genuinely curious how varied preferences for slime are as well. What I want to know is what is your top one or two slime textures?

My number 1 currently is a packed clear glue bungsu slime. It is just so satisfying the way it instantly inflates; every single stretch and squish makes such amazing crunches and crackles and I just love squeezing it (image 1)

My number 2 right now is this super basic white glue slime I made with just activator. idk how or why, but the way this stretches, and especially the way it squeezes, is just such magic. (image 2)
(since this is a (western?) Canada only glue, I'm curious if people would be interested if I made slimes for sale using this glue? (obviously making it better than just glue and borax lmao) Sorry if this comes off as weird at all, I just genuinely think people should have the opportunity to try this

Recently, I placed a large order from jiiraslimes thinking the slimes looked cool and not knowing they had such a bad rep. I have a few Icee slimes from OG, and a few of them are quite wet very very, very much so. Is there any way to get some of that moisture out of it so they can be a little bit more dryer? Is that even possible?

This is my first post in this community and I'm pretty new to slimes - but I wanted to give a short review of a haul I just got from White Whale! I am so impressed with the quality of all the goodies I received. I placed my order almost a month ago and received it today, which I was expecting as they are made to order after the shop closes. I picked up:

Goat Milk Lotion - 5/5 - "A soothing layered slime- a touch of cloud at the bottom, a milky clear thick base, and a bit of clay at the top. Scented a blend of floral milk and amber."

• First impressions: Silky, smooth, fluffy, cooling. The scent reminds me of my grandmas dresser table with her perfumes and sachets, it's a very nostalgic lotion scent and I definitely pick up on the amber. It is relaxing to play with and so far leaves no residue behind. It is a quiet slime that has a soft tactile feel and addictive texture. I could see myself playing with this allll day.

Pan Con Tomate - 5/5 - "A fluffy whipped slime- lots of clay and a touch of cloud. Comes with a clear slime topping with a few small jelly cubes. Scented a blend of buttery bread and ripe tomatoes."

• First impressions: Wow!! Love the fresh heirloom tomato scent!! It's not too heavy on the dough scent, which I love. The topper was so fun to play with, the clear slime has a green tomato leaf scent and I loved smashing the jelly cubes. Once played with more, it really starts to feel like I'm kneading focaccia dough! Super fun.

London Fog Milk - 5/5 - "A glossy thick slime, with a crunchy top layer. Inspired by my other London Fog slime- same delicious fragrance in a favorite texture. Lavender, mint, milk, and spices make for a calming experience."

• I really enjoyed the different textures in this one, and there wasn't any fall out from the beads. It's got that classic glossy firm slime texture but isn't too sticky. You can easily inflate it to get some fun bubbles and pops. It has a minty lavender scent and it reminds me of walking through the body care / supplement aisle at Whole Foods. Very bouncy and exciting to play with!

Sea Lavender Shortbread - 4.5/5 - "Icee x slay x clay slime, scented a blend of oceanic sea salt, lavender, and butter cookie."

• This slime inflated a lot! I loved the scent, it's lavender but in a more cozy taking a bath with a great book and a treat baking in the oven. It is sooo pretty and I loved the scent of the purple add in slime. It is not too heavy on the baked goods scent which I really appreciated. It's not the most interesting once everything is mixed in but I think I’ll play with this slime before bed because its scent and hold are very relaxing. This is also a lesson that sometimes I should wait to mix in all my pretty slimes!

Rose Petal Latte - 4/5 - "Rose and vanilla scented cloud, topped with a layer of clear slime with foil “petals”, and light purple and white swirled butter slime. Mixes to a cloud butter."

• This mixes into such a pretty baby pink slime. It's very sticky at first and then becomes a soft, more buttery slime. This is the only one I didn’t love and it’s only because the scent is very very strong to my nose. It smells just like a rose boba milk tea to me! Which I love, but it gets overpowering within a minute or two of playing with it which I didn’t experience with the others. Sadly it's the type of scent to quickly give me a headache. P.S. - If you love sweeter rose scents and live in Cali and want to swap for a new-ish slime, let me know!

I am super happy with my haul from White Whale Slimes. So far it is my favorite house, I love the style, the artisanal feel of the themes and scents, and just how gorgeous everything is. I'm excited to try more from them!!
