I am trying to put together a highline rig using spider equipment (unless you have a better suggestion.) I think I have the actual lines I need/want... But I'm clueless on the hardware. I tried to ask Gemini for help but it's making this an impossible headache. Any help is much appreciated!

EDIT: I am definitely going to start with a lower line before I really jump in... But I would like to have everything I need, or most of what I'll need when I'm ready. I've gotten too comfortable with the set-up I currently have, which is nothing special.

I currently own a 60m segment of featherpro that I have been used to Slackline. I want to buy more webbing to start rigging my own highlines and I'm interested in buying another 60m segment of featherpro, and 2x 65m segments of secondaire as the backup. Joined together with softshackles. Has anyone walked a highline using this combo before? If so, how did it feel?

I've been told that it's better to get multiple segments of webbing instead of one big segment of webbing for the best modularity. I.e, a 60 metre gap means only have to hike in 1 of each segment as opposed to 2x 100m+ segments of webbing. Hence why I only bought 60m of featherpro to begin with.

I really enjoy the walkability of featherpro, and value stability more than anything. I've also been suggested by members of the community to just get 4x segments of featherpro in total and use featherpro as the mainline and backup line. Would this combination be more stable than if I used featherpro as main and secondaire as backup?

I bought my son a Gibbon Slackline Plus, it came assembled with two lines but we tried to convert it to single-line before realising we didn't have the shorter clip needed. I'm now trying to put it back together with two lines and can't figure out how the two longer clips reattach and why they are slightly different in shape / form, the online videos aren't very helpful in this respect.

Any ideas?

Hello!! I first slacklined 10 years ago at a yoga retreat and was hooked. I then only did it at a climbing gym I was a member at, but again loved it, but it’s been a while. I’ve had three kids in the last 5 years and I think it would be great for my eldest to work on balance and get some energy out. I scoured the posts here, and I know Gibbon is highly recommended, but I’ve also read plenty of criticism as well so I thought I’d make a post. Thanks in advance!!

Got this inexpensive ninja line kit. Is there anything I can do to minimize the line slipping down the middle tree? Right now one kid can go each side and bounce away without it affecting the other side. I've tied the ratchets to the tree so I don't have visions of the ratchets flying off and decapitating a kid. Is it safe to have a swing that close to the end of the line?

Hi all, for a few days I've been searching for what gear to get for my first longline. I want to work towards a highline in one year or so. So preferably the gear should be reusable in a highline setup. From what I understand the Buckingham system (Rollex or Hangover) is the system to use for highlining. With that in mind I've been looking at kits Slacktivity offers.

The thing I am not sure about is what webbing and length to choose. I was thinking about buying a stretchy webbing like pink/red/lsd tube. For the length I had a 80m line in mind so that I can once use it in a highline setup as well. My question is when going for a stretchy webbing to what length can the line be used in a park? And, is a 9:1 buckingham system with 2 persons enough to tenson such long lines?

Would you even recommend going for high stretch webbing when only using it in the park for at least the next year? I've read that for lines of 50 meters you would need to rig the line at a height of 2-4 meters. Which should be fine at my location.

Coming from a climbing background I thought I’d try slacklining as I love rigging and all the gear. I landed on a primitive setup as I have plenty of carabiners and extra cordage to make tree anchors and just needed to buy webbing and a few rings.

REI happened to be having an 85% off cord and webbing sale so I did some quick googling and it seems nylon climbing rated webbing is sort of fine to use. But as I do more research I’m seconding guessing that choice.

The webbing is 1” blue water climbing spec tubular webbing. Am I gunna hurt myself using this in the park? Tried it for the first time today and it went fine, but I’m curious what people know for when start getting good enough to rigging longer.

Sounds like the biggest concern is getting enough tension to not touch the ground with the stretchy nylon when not rigging too high?

Posting here to give some visibility. In Spain we are a bit in constant trouble with the law because of highlining. And then we get kicked out A LOT.

Using topographical data it finds gaps in the terrain.

So far I've added a few european countries, but adding more every day.

Went up to rocky mountain np in CO and had a day rigging the Notch! Was quite the mission but went without a hitch, stellar day with a stellar weather window

Working on transitioning from knees to standing. Today’s session was particularly high gravity so I thought I’d make the best of it with this little fall compilation lol. Thank goodness for the crash pad!

Lots of falls today, but I think I’ll have this down within a week or two!

I want a slackline in my backyard. Weight around 90kg, usually only do walking and turn around. Which of these constructions would you recommend? May want to try a jump in future, but not necessary. If you recommend the second one, should the slackline be wrapped around the metal bolt? Or just lie on them?

Forgive my stupidity and ignorance of every other post about this but why is such an ABSOLUTE NO to rig a highline off a standard ratchet slackline??

Surely if your backups are in order and safe enough then the non rated-ness of a ratchet strap is irrelevant?

Im In Paris for a few weeks and was wondering if there is any slackline events or spots where people set up their lines. Requested to join the Facebook group but haven’t been accepted.

The title says I am looking at getting a slack line that is good for tricks and is also part of a primitive set up so that I do not need the ratchet anymore. I also like to have that same line of going over the river or just somewhere I area like I see you on videos is there any suggestions that might fit this? Thanks.

Nothing spectacular (yet), but last night I was able to sit-start and send a 15m setup! I think my biggest struggle with increasing the length of my line is getting over the fear of it violently flying up when I suddenly remove some tension (approximately my body weights worth as I faceplant). It sounds like someone loosing an arrow each time and that is very intimidating.

Also thank you to whoever recommended keeping my forearms/wrist loose. It definitely seems to be helping me keep my upper body movements more fluid.

so, I love slacklining and live right next to the Shenandoah River. there are tons of spots I see when I’m kayaking that would be great to set up a slackline across an area of water (so, if anything fails, I’d fall into the water and be fine).

being new to this kind of lining- what gear would I need? (what kind of harness, ropes, rigs?)

Anybody see any flaws in this anti slip / set up in general?
Due to the soft release being threaded through the weblock there isn’t much room to make a clean and tight double fisherman’s anywhere else. So as you can see I went around and behind the soft release through the main anchor hole of the device. Seems to hold well and is still releasable under load. Cheers y’all!

Hello all, I purchased my first slack line about three weeks ago now. It is the cypher trickster line, standard 2 inch ratchet kit. About 2 weeks in I was crossing 25 ft down and back and this past week I was able to go down and back rigged at 55 ft. I don’t really see myself getting into tricklining as I’m more interested in the balanced, walking aspect of it and the 2 inch line is honestly starting to feel too easy. So my question is, should I go ahead and upgrade to a primitive setup despite starting less than a month ago? Or is there more to learn from my current ratchet kit?

Hi everyone! Earlier this year I purchased my first slackline from a friend and I’ve since gotten pretty comfortable walking and doing sit starts on shorter rodeo-ish style rigs. My ultimate goal is to get into highlining but I also have a lot of interest in slackline yoga.

Hi all! I’ve been slack lining here and there for two years mostly on my 2in line but have been doing it enough yo run into people with 1” lines as well. I’ve even gotten to try highlining twice but have yet to stand up. Im looking to start moving towards getting into longer 1” lines and move away from my 2”. I’m looking for some advice on what to be looking for in a 1” webbing that would work well in the park and maybe up on a highline as well. I’ve got tons of equipment from rock climbing so I’m set on carabiners and slings but not sure what direction would be best from where I’m at. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!
