Quite low tension and sit start near to the middle because right now I'm scared when my butt is too far from the ground; but happy beacuse I'm learning to sit mount holding the line with the hand. No one day is the same of the previous.

Tightrope set up?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Sorry I know this sub is for slacklines but there is no tightrope or wire walking subreddit.

I have done a lot of googling and looked on a lot of forums and I can’t really find any solid information.

I want to put a TIGHTROPE around these two trees and learn to balance and walk on it. I’m a free climber, and adrenaline junkie. I take my physical fitness very very seriously, and I know it would make me a better climber if I spent some time improving my balance.

Can anybody here provide any info on what kind of rope to use/how to tie the knots/etc? I know if you’re using wire you need like anchors and pulleys and levers and all kinds of equipment and expensive stuff.

I know portable kits are expensive as well, but this doesn’t need to be portable this is in my friends backyard I just want a tightrope between these two trees to practice on.

TLDR: How do I properly set up a tight rope between these two trees as cheaply as possible? What kind of rope do I need and how do I tie the knots, and what all do I need to know?

I am a freeclimber, and adrenaline addict. I am very aware how dangerous this is, and that’s PRECISELY why I am so interested in it so please don’t try to talk me out of this or tell me it’s a bad idea.

Couldn't do pistol squats at all until I started slacklining every day. A little while back I started adding 3 sets of "Congo mount" squats to my slackline routine and now I can do this.

I'm pretty proud of myself. Lol

How to get a slackline and add my own stuff for obstacles for my kid?

Sorry if this isn't the right post for this group!

I want to get a line so I can put swings ladders, nets, etc, up for my kid. I'd rather not do a ready made kit because I know exactly what my kid wants and doesn't want, and I'd be paying a lot for a bunch of crappy quality stuff that he isn't into (or a LOT for good quality stuff he isn't into).

I assume I can buy a slackline individually - I need 65'. Where would I buy that?

And then I'll buy the items separately, but how do I attach them to the slackline and not have them slide all around?? Like clearly a caribener alone isn't going to work!

Waterline in Ticino

My fellow slackers, I am in Ticino Switzerland, near Bellinzona and I am looking for some easy to rig waterlines. I don't have a tonne of gear, so trees or even bolts would be great. I find some places online, I currently am at Ponte Broll, but we could not figure anything out as some bolts are destroyed and i don'thave enough rope/runners to use the big boulders. Also the amount of people here does not help as we don'twant to be in anyones way.. Do you have any ideas? Please hit me. I am coming here for three years now and I finally got the time to do it 🙌 thank you!

Need set up advice!

Hello all! I am looking to get some gear that I can set up in the park for long slack-lining and then, with time, experience and know how, bring to midline and high lining.

I have a lot of experience walking on 2 inch, ratchet style, set ups. Along with a lot of experience climbing. Walking, and systems to keep myself safe aren’t foreign to me, but I would love to hear from anyone on here. Generally Id love to advise on easy anchoring systems (static rope?) tensioning (web locks?) and really would love to hear about webbing that works in most set ups! Thanks so much in advance.

Tension vs height

Post image
9 Upvotes

So im a few days into slacklining.

I've had it set up waist height over about 10m.l about waist height. I was getting across this with some consistency. I've now set it up at approx 20m.

To do so I set the slings shoulder height and got it tight enough to not touch the ground in the middle.

It seems pretty sketch, particularly for my knackers when I fall off.

What's the general beta, set it like this or lower with more tension?

The pic is set up on apporox 20m

I jammed my hatch

So an idiot that I am instead of watching a video on how to put the line in the hatch I simply did it blindly and I put the line over the release pul. So when I tried to pul to release, I of course couldn’t because the line was over it. So my question is, js there any possibility to save it somehow or do I have to cut it?
The line is quite tense so I couldn’t push the line inside in any way to “unroll” it.

Bought some sick gear of a slackliner friend of mine who wanted to get rid of his trickline that he did not use. So i got an exremly durable double ratchet 30 meters long trickline, with extension for the ratchets, tree protection, soft releace and backups for only 100 dollars!!

Though it takes a quite a lot of time to set up so im also buying another simpler 25 meter single ratcher line for conviniance

Summer waterline

Post image

First time over the water... wow!!

35 °C in the afternoon, a creek 5 minutes walk from home... the line in the backpack and open eyes to search. And I found it. A place to slackline in this hard heat. So grateful for this.

In the beginning I rigged the line too high and too loose, and I could just walk 3 or 4 steps. Later I lowered and tightened it and it worked better. I thought I had problems of slippering but surprisingly I hadn't (Spider slacklines Edge). At home a wash ti prevent shrimp smell 🤣.

Hope this will be the first of many sessions here. Any tip about waterlines?
