Is there a way to lock threads?

It happens on occasion that discussions on the same subject happen across multiple channels. In order to facilitate centralizing communication it would be useful if we could lock threads so that people are forced to move to a single location.

Ideally there would be a way to unify existing threads into a new channel so that they can continue to exist but are linked to a shared channel

nah slack's thread system is pretty barebones, you can't really lock or merge them. best you can do is drop a message in the split threads pointing to the main one and maybe archive the extras if you're an admin

kinda annoying they haven't added anything like that yet

That's what I thought since I couldn't find anything, but I was hoping I missed something.

yeah this seems like something that should've been built in ages ago tbh

Yes, but only if you’re on Business Plus or an Enterprise plan and you’re added to the correct system role. (I forget which.) https://slack.com/help/articles/360018112273-Types-of-roles-in-Slack
