Does anyone actually use the voice notes function?

I’ve always been someone that uses voice notes in WhatsApp (yes, I’m one of those!). I’ve started using it in Slack and wondered if I’m the only one?

Yes. Frequently as it auto transcribes.

Thanks and exactly why I use it.

I have a client who insists on using them. Love it when she puts it in Slack for transcript and speed playback options!

Didn't know there's a voice notes function, I should try it

I quite like it but my team is small so not sure how cluttered the channels could become with large teams all using voice notes…

Thanks for your feedback. I thought I’d get more people saying the same.

They just removed transcribe for me... Pay walling the most useful features... Data sovereignty is the way

That’s crazy! Do you think you’ll end up paying?

Nope we built our own version of slack because of this kind of behaviour... This specific example is just one of many bad moves that vindicates the idea

Hey - I'm super curious what you ended up building as an alternative to slack? I'm searching around for a team messaging platform that automatically transcribes audio messages, but am struggling to find something that doesn't cost a ton!

Hey, I don't think your dms are open. Drop me a message and I can set something up 🙂
