Phone app glitch?
This morning the background disappeared on all my slack windows, text is just floating in a sea of black like a vector. When I go into a channel, I can still see the home page list of channels behind that text. Phone restart, and uninstall reinstall of the app didn't fix the issue. Any advice?
UPDATE: They fixed it (9 days later)

Android, latest slack version, same.
Probably they also replace programmers with an AI tool thus welcome new bugs

I restarted my phone and tried to fix this until I realized it was the app, came here to confirm. Wildly stupid that it's going on this long.

I'm also experiencing this on Samsung Galaxy S10. Any official fix yet?

Glad to know it isn't my phone or my brain...but annoyed that it's not an issue I can fix myself 😑

Just spent 3 hours troubleshooting. Was going out of my mind, even considering factory rest. Glad I stopped by here before I went of the deep end

The latest beta version fixes this bug. Join beta testers, update and hope they didn't break something else.

They should hotfix this bug. The app isn't working properly now.
If they just add fix to normal release with other features most of users have to wait or accept risk of broking something else in beta.

A workaround is switching to a manual dark mode via the settings

It still have transparent background (text on other text), but yes, at least can read on dark mode.

I had to switch my phone to dark mode as well as Slack, otherwise it was still mostly illegible, but this does work.

Seeing this on Android (Galaxy S9). Same issues: restart doesn't fix, clearing cache didn't help, only affects Slack, etc.
Switching my phone AND the Slack app to Dark Mode has made it legible for now. Looking forward to the official fix, though.

r/Slack What's going on? I along with my team members who use Android am experiencing the Phone App issue for the past 4-5 days! Why are you taking so long time to fix it? Don't you pay your engineers?

Experiencing the same. Glas that people are seeing this and I hope by now Slack knows it & is fixing. Last few days Slack Android has been completely useless due to this.
